yall mad?

They could stop even more crime if they mandate that we must all drive around with cameras in our cars watching and monitoring our every move...or that we wear government issued meta glasses to track our behavior. Maybe they can implant chips and really cut down on crime.

Choice vs non choice. I can turn off any cameras I own and install, I can't turn off Flock.

Really silly point you attempted to articulate.

You can turn your cell camera off all you want but as long as you own a cell phone, you're being tracked in ways flock cant. Cell phones are far more invasive than flock cameras

Well, you can sit in your house and have everything delivered there, then only leave in Ubers, which meet you 3 streets over after you climb the fences to get there.

Seems a little more difficult, but doable as long as your neighbors don't shoot your or have pit bulls.

But its not stopping you from owning a phone? Why is that? Surely you value your privacy

Meanwhile, let's keep score

Flock camera record where you drive. It mostly records public places. So it sees you when youre in places in the city and some other places. Ive heard the examples of Lowes, traffic lights. Ok. Let's move on to cell phones

When you stop using your phone for the evening, your cell tracks when you go to bed. When your alarm goes off it knows when you're awake. It knows essentially every purchase you've made. Your phone connects to your vehicle. Between it connecting to yoir vehicle and the GPS in the phone. It knows E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E you've been. Binging off towers as you go. It knows every text you've made, received, it knows who you spoke to and how long your phone conversations are. Your phone knows when your sad, anxious and more. I saw a documentary on this (the social media dilemma)

Through your phone, which you've most likely taken personal pics with, it knows everything about you. 100x more than all flock cameras combined.

Flock cameras have been around since 2017. They are one of many companies. But, people in high places have chosen Flock, as target #1 to stir the public. Its a ruse. Soon enough, they will tell us what we should be angry and divided over next

The data on your phone still requires a warrant and is considered private. If Apple or Samsung were sharing all of your data with the government without warrant, they wouldn't have any customers.

Your phone is a voluntary exchange of privacy and trust the company is able to keep your data private and secure.

Flock is not voluntary. You don't get a say in who has access to your data.

Flock requires no warrant because it's recording of "public" activity.

A network of public recordings that tracks movements (and a lot more) is an invasion of privacy.

And then that pesky "choice" thing. I choose to carry my phone. I can choose not to.

The tradeoff for a smartphone with still having the ability to turn off and leave at home, get a secondary phone, and their being some hoops to trace and prosecute you with that data is nothing like flock cameras tracking you and every local and national cop being able to use AI to link you to a time, place, and pattern. Do the phone manufacturers and cell phone providers have a portal that allows law enforcement to real time track you without a warrant? They used to until SCOTUS ruled a warrant is needed for that info.

Why are you ok with Flock being wide open for any moron in LE to use at their whim without a warrant? Many of us don't like the technology but would be slightly more ok with it if an actual judge had to issue a warrant before a search is run.

Since when were these ________sticks getting access to insurance databases???

When someone realized this would be an easy way to ticket people driving without insurance and looked at the amount of revenue it could bring in. I'm surprised they aren't just automatically mailing tickets, like a red light camera.

Wasn't there something like that type of light that did ticket people in Houston a little over a decade ago then the public outcry got rid of it?

They had red light cameras in Dallas. They removed them because it was a third party the city was paying to run the cameras. After people started stopping at red lights, the revenue from the tickets completely disappeared, and the city was in the red on the program. People complained about the cameras, but the real reason it was discontinued was because it was a financial drain for the city.

Also, they found that half the cameras in Dallas were not even operational. Just dummy cams sitting out there doing nothing so the city was paying money for a system that was not fully functioning anyway.

Unfortunately, that's not the case with these Flock cameras.

Fresh ruling out of federal court in Oklahoma. Was only a matter of time. Suspect we'll be seeing more.

Case is U.S. v Kyle, 2026 WL 2958728 (Oct. 1, 2026)

Federal Judge Rules a Flock Search Was 'Indiscriminate Mass Surveillance' and Unconstitutional

gov.uscourts.oknd.76981.62.0.pdf

" The Court finds that because the ALPR systems Alaniz used to search Kyle's historical location information intruded on her reasonable expectation of privacy in the whole of her physical movements, it was a search under the Fourth Amendment. Based on the information in the record, the only reason Alaniz conducted that search was because he saw her license plate was from California. That search was not supported by probable cause, and it was done without a warrant in violation of Kyle's Fourth Amendment rights. That search also has a nexus to the remainder of the traffic stop because Alaniz began following Kyle's car while 37 Case 4:26-cr-00189-SEH Document 62 Filed in USDC ND/OK on 10/01/26 Page 38 of 38 he conducted the ALPR search, which led to the rest of the evidence obtained during the traffic stop. Because the government does not identify any adequate exception to the exclusionary rule, all evidence obtained after Alaniz initiated the ALPR search must be suppressed as fruit of the poisonous tree. III. Conclusion IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the Defendant's Opposed Motion to Suppress [ECF No. 47] is GRANTED for the reasons explained above. DATED this 1st day of October, 2026. Sara E. Hill UNITED STATES DISTRICT JUDGE"
