The link. Look, I know! but even a broken clock is occasionally right, at least if it is analog.

https://www.aclu.org/news/privacy-technology/tracking-alpr-cameras/flock-ceo-goes-ballistic

DeFlock, a group led by Will Freeman, identifies and maps the location of Flock cameras. Turns out Garrett Langley, the CEO of Flock, is a bit upset :-). There have been a couple of incidents where Flock cameras have been vandalized, which Langley attributes to the location of these cameras being "public knowledge".

Langley is trying to make publicizing this information criminal. "Flock and its police partners were under a coordinated attack" to "normalize lawlessness." And the mapping of cameras is "terroristic."

Sounds like a true liberal - privacy for me, but not for thee. Terrorism? Please. :-)

Every so often karma aligns and someone gets a taste of their own medicine. Bitter for him, but so sweet for others. I love it.

Flock doesn't like being tracked?

I live in a pretty rural town in NW Colorado and we now have 3 of these things. Nothing happens here of significance, yet we now have 3 of these for some reason with no vote cast, no ballot measure, nothing. Some shady **** going on with our local leaders and a pretty well funded group in our county is going after them. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

On another note, in the last few months, our cameras have had to be replaced several times due to 'things' happening to them by the local vigilantes.

Always funny how both sides of the political spectrum are okay with destruction of property, as long as that destruction aligns with their beliefs.

Don't like the cameras, get local and state lawmakers to ban or heavily restrict them.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Hugely opposed to these. A BMW went blasting down our very small residential street blowing all five stop signs at probably 70 mph. Miraculously not a kid in sight (nice neighborhood with kids everywhere). Even then - to catch that guy - I'm opposed to these cameras.

I get what you're saying but some private company wrapping itself in the flag of "back the blue!" is weak. They're selling surveillance that would be illegal if the government did it. If it's your neighbor with a camera over the fence looking at your pool you can ask him to take it down; when he puts it up in the public square, you can't do that. But you are right that lawmakers need to deal with this ASAP.

It has shocked me to see lots of flock on the roads and highways in west texas. I know there's been problems with illegals but sheesh. I dont want to have to pass them on freaking ranch to market roads, I-10 and state highways repeatedly

Why can't you just start installing them at the entrance of neighborhoods where public officials live?
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

Sounds like the officer was using flock cameras to track the movements of the women he was stalking.

My demon woke me up this morning and said bruh, I'm tired... So I handed him a Red Bull and said come on little buddy, we got bridges to burn and chaos to spread.

Much like the Biden administration outsourcing censorship and stifling of First Amendment rights via manipulation and influence over social media companies, nor should they be allowed to outsource clear 4th amendment violations.
I attended Reagan's inauguration in 1981 and have voted republican since. The republicans have shot themselves in the foot this go-round.

I dont care if there were no evidence of officials abusing them. A surveillance state is not what the founding fathers would have wanted. Its unconstitutional and should be stopped.

Hopefully by the courts. Vigilantes? I wont do it, but I understand, too. I call them Patriots.

I'm sorry, where did the public get to have a say in Flok cameras watching their every move? Did the local and state lawmakers provide a transparent process to let the public know about this?

what do you think all these "data centers" are for?

we are becoming a surveillance state. they will have profiles on your movement, spending habits, social group, your ideals...there will be no secrets.

the "nothing to hide folks" should consider what you would be willing to hide if our country became a mix of London demographics and the UK's laws against free speech. and add the chinese social credit score.

would you have something to hide in these circumstances?

That's been my argument about what 5G was for. With good service, 4G would allow instantaneous downloads, streaming movies, etc. So why did we go to 5G? Faster service? Nope. More bandwidth. So more data can be transfered and processed.

By citizens? Sure we use more data. But I think it was so companies and the government can get more of our data.

Anyone can film you in a public space. It wouldn't be illegal for the government to directly own these cameras.

Epic rant by redlight ticketed guy

I can't remember if this was posted here anywhere, but this guy is nails. Presents facts about the unconstitutional practice of ticketing a citizen with a camera/automated system.

Ok. Mumicipalities are supposed to have an engineering study done before any camera can be used for traffic enforcement. My guess is many have not done this. If i got a ticket from one, I would ask for the engineering study.

I just checked out the camera locations in my town. Very odd placement and not where I would place them if I were LEO or government official. How are the locations determined?

That is a great question that you, as a taxpayer being unreasonably surveilled, should have the right to know.
