There's a flip side to this coin geopolitically. We are essentially demonstrating the ultimate protection against US bombs is having nuclear weapons. Not saying I necessarily agree with that conclusion but it's a legitimate one being made. I can imagine with ai and other technological advancements nuclear weapon procurement will only becomes increasingly easy.

And there's the issue of current nuclear countries like the UK subcoming to Islam take over.

We really need a better geopolitical mechanism for dealing with nuclear adversaries vs bombing them. It's going to be important in the future.

And at least Benedict Arnold was a full General who won battles for the United States.

If he leaked intelligence information, why is he being forced to leave?

He should be in handcuffs if that occurred.

Joe Kent is not pro-American. His allegiance is questionable.

Not pro-American?

He deployed 11 times overseas.
Quote from the article in the OP.
Quote:

In the confirmation hearing, Kent also refused to back away from claims that federal agents had fomented the January 6 riots at the US Capitol or that Trump had won the 2020 election.

At the National Counterterrorism Center, he reported to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and oversaw the analysis and detection of potential terrorist threats from around the globe.

Previously, Kent had deployed 11 times overseas with the US military, including with the US Army's special forces in Iraq.

He later became a paramilitary officer at the CIA, before leaving government service after his wife's death.

Maybe he is so pro-America that he doesn't want to send Americans to Iran.
Quote:

Kent cited his military service and her death in his letter, saying that he "cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives".

What if they set him and tucker up for tuckers WH meeting a few weeks ago. Gave this guy some info, that tucker was told and then confirmed it with tucker visit.

My guess is that he did not leak in the intelligence information. That's just some spin put out there by administration friendly reporters or people on Twitter.

Americans so far as the state dept is concerned.

My kids are dual citizens with another country

You going to minimize them too?

It was honestly just a question I didn't know the answer to until after I posted and then looked, and yes all of the captives were Dual-Citizens, American-Israeli or Israeli-American... I don't know if the order matters or if there is even an "order."

Further spawned more questions about the concept of dual-citizenship in my head, A. I didn't really think much about dual-citizenship until I found out all of the 58 Americans cited were Americans that could vote in Israel and in the US.

I dont feel strongly that we should or shouldn't minimize dual-citizens, but I do have questions about the practice itself now that I didn't have before.

I do wonder if they were forced to renounce and only claim one citizenship, which they'd renounce... but the practice is established and Supreme Court Blessed so it doesn't matter.

The world is big. I'm still learning things.

What countries do your children have dual-citizenry in, out of curiosity?

If you can't claim allegiance to a single country, then you shouldn't represent that country. It's a simple alignment of interests. You can't serve two masters. It's great that Mike Jones's kids have dual citizenship, I just don't want them representing my country. Not hard to understand, and shouldn't be controversial.

The ad hominem attacks against anyone who questions Israel need to stop. Calling someone an antisemite is the same as saying they said a racial slur -- you shouldn't get to do that lightly on this forum.

No, MAGA will turn against the war just like Joe did. They just need Trump to move first. They supported Zelensky until Trump ditched him. It will be no different with Bibi.

In the same way the COVIDIANs claimed they "were going with the data and experts", the MAGA warmongers will claim Israel and Iranian civilians didnt pull their weight. No one ever takes accountability.

This Trump is coming back soon, 2.0

People avoid conflicts of interest in business situations all the time. Why would politics be any different? You seem childish when you can't understand this concept. I bet you wouldn't be as comfortable if a bunch of liberal politicians had dual citizenship with China. That should be a problem for you. The truth is that any conflict of interest should be of concern if you're on the other side. You're blinded because it's your children. Grow up. You're better than this.

Clearly there was pressure from Israel . That doesn't mean it wasn't the right thing to do tho. The mullahs and their attack dogs have been a bloody and expensive thorn in the free world's side for many, many decades not to mention tyrannical over their own populace. The calculus may very well have been we'll spend less blood and treasure just getting rid of the threat once and for all. The Iranians also have admitted arranging for attempts on our President's life as well.

The Arab and predominantly Sunni countries in the ME Region want them gone and they also have said they will purge radical Islamists supported by Iran out of their countries once this is over as well.

If the iron grip on Iran can be broken and I believe it can everyone benefits except the Mullahs and their attack dogs and Russia , China, and Radical Islamists everywhere.

This war started because of stupidity and opportunity. Iranian "peace" negotiators bragging about their stockpile of U235 and Khamenei and top Iranian despots gathering above ground in an unsecure location.

I agree. I also think one shouldn't be able to pull the Jon Stewart "im just a comic" when called out.

Its a fine line- iran wants the jew destroyed, along with the state of Israel. Israel is state that mostly represents the Jewish people. The nuance between the two is difficult to part.

There also exist the traditional tropes like "jews run the banks, media, Hollywood, congress" etc that are constantly just below the surface thay further add to the haziness

However, its nearly impossible to separate that what benefits Israel a d that what benefits the Jewish people, or the desires of either when they are intertwined as they are

Are they pro striking Iran to help Israel the country or jews the people?

This development is interesting. My sister, who is a HUGE MAGA is super angry at Trump and Cruz. She came out and said Bibi is the antiChrist and that we are doing his bidding with Iran. Then she said that Cruz said that "Christ is King," is a racial slur.

I don't know what or who is doing this, but they are doing a good job of making the GOP folks against each other.

I'm not a policy maker. I'm just a guy on Texags saying what should happen. The fact it no one would act to make it happen doesn't mean it is without virtue.

For example, we need more than two parties. It's not going to happen, but it would be a net positive if it did:

No imminent threat but they struck US bases and interests with their rockets and missiles. Yeah, OK.

A flawed argument since that happened AFTER we'd already started an air war against them. The point they were a threat is real though and my personal opinion is Reagan should have cut them down to size decades ago long before they had the ability to be a major threat. Since he didn't it should have happened any time since but sooner than now would have been better . My only objections to Trump starting a war with Iran now are first, that their continued attacks on neighboring countries and continued ability to choke off the strait of Hormuz even after he's claimed total success in obliterating their military shows our intelligence assets had a poor handle on quantity, distribution and location of their armaments. Second, the idiotic notion that aerial bombardment alone by warplanes and missiles is adequate to totally quash the real threat posed by Iran… terrorists attacks by religious fanatics; their own or their proxies.

Ever seen a hornet's nest knocked down and stomped on? You destroy the nest and kill some hornets while taking a few stings, but you leave a lot of very irritated hornets buzzing around establishing new nests and posing multiple, elevated threats until they finally calm down. Which won't happen with human fanatics. You either plan to totally eradicate the nest or leave it and either minimize irritating the hornets or tolerate some occasional stings. Bombarding targets from the air alone will not only never get them all it will radicalize some new 'hornets' looking for revenge. Meaning total, hopefully lasting victory, means lots of boots on the ground. And how well did that work in Iraq and Afghanistan? In fighting in the Middle East you're not fighting the segment of normal people willing to answer the call of patriotism to a nation. instead, the fight is against radicalized zealots who are fighting for their perverted version of religion, superseding national borders.

I don't know about any of that, but I had someone tell me Cruz's biggest donor was a pro-Israel lobby. I called BS on that, thinking there is no way it was true. So I went to look for myself annd sure enough he was right.

I'm not sure why a TX Senator's biggest donor is a lobbyist for a foreign country, but anything of that sort does not sit well with me. "Follow the money" is the one rule in politics that never gets violated.

This has long been the case.... conservatives tend to want to "out conservative" each other, most of the time to our own detriment IMHO. Trump's presidency, and the lunacy of the MSM, put the whole deal on sterroids with anyone that asked questions or raised concerns labeled as a "TDS infected commie" or trashing other decent conservative minded folks as RINOs because they only share 90% of the same ideas / policies, instead of 100.

And now, here we are. What a time to be alive.

The "Christ is King" thing comes straight from Owens.

When she was at the Daily Wire, she's start saying it to the face of the Jewish employees, for no other reason than to troll them. She still uses it to try to silence people when they criticize her, especially when she goes off on one her antisemitic rants.

Saying "Christ is King" is not wrong in and of itself, but when doing it to someone's face for no other reason than to troll them, it is using God's name in vain, which is what Owens was doing.

It is how saying GD or G D has different meaning. Someone saying it as an utterance such as "GD it!" is a profanity. Saying it like Charlton Heston does at the end of the Planet of the Apes, is not. (In that case, he is calling on God to damn everyone to Hell who blew up the Earth.)

Well, then people need to stop with the old, tired, worn out cliches and tropes that antisemites have been using for centuries.

As was demonstrated earlier on this thread, one poster's comment were exactly what was being said in 1920s and 1930s Germany. We now have people on F16 saying they want Israel to cease to exist.

There are people on this very thread who have previously posted they follow people like Nick Fuentes and Corey Mahler. One even went so far as to have his previous sock account use the name of Mahler's podcast group and another who posts hearts whenever Mahler's name is mentioned. Both Fuentes and Mahler are virulent antisemites (by their own admission) with Mahler going so far as to openly praise Hitler and call for the expulsion or extermination (the latter he prefers for the Jews) of anyone in this country who isn't Northern European white and of specific Protestant denominations.

There is a huge difference in disagreeing with how Israel conducts its affairs, and being antisemitic. The problem is, most of the people who do the former, inevitable go into the latter by blaming Jews for all the world's problems.
