The Gulf states have taken their oil money and built glittering resort cities in the middle of the desert. Other than that and their oil, that's all they have.

Iran has taken their oil money and used it to fund global jihad and to rule its own people with an iron first. Compared to the other countries, I think the Iranian people are much more educated while the country has many more resources than just oil.

I think they could have developed a first-world manufacturing based economy instead. Now may be their chance to do something about it.

Not that I want a mass migration Biden-style, but I've known several good Persian/Iranian guys over the years. In general, of course, the ones here fled the Carter-installed mullahs but still, I think it's really only around 60 percent loosely muslim, and probably closer to 20 percent 'devout.'

Good post Bad Moon! I knew Trump would take action. Those claiming posturing and saber rattling don't understand this administration. But taking out leadership, that was a master class in diplomacy as evidenced by other leaders showing support. If I was a leader in Cuba, I'd be very nervous about now, because it's coming.

I dunno, maybe something along the arabic 'lion' or 'brave' but it beats me, I figure they are taunting them about the return of the shah etc. The lion on the old flag drew from an ancient persian fascination with the animals I think.
