I assume our BOR and Governor Abbott have a vetting process for the presidents we hire. How do we hire people who can't read the room and realize we live in a conservative state?

Wow. There is some real anger being posted here. I haven't been paying much attention to what he's up to until now. We just can't seem to get this pick right unless the minority is being the loudest here. Is this about to boil over?

He has repeatedly flaunted violations of federal and state law around DEI and now gender ideology. Embarrassment to the University.
He is an embarrassment on many levels. Supposedly a general, but he wouldn't make a wart on the ass of any of the real generals my dad served under.

Sharp was a democratic politician before he became chancellor. His picks for university president over the years are a reflection of his politics.
And almost all of them have been bad. I am so glad he is FINALLY out of Texas A&M now. He was horrible. Almost irreparable damage.
And he was appointed by Rick Perry. A huge POS Bush RINO.

Why is it too much to ask for a non academic, former Student with generational roots at A&M, white, unapologetic Christian conservative, happily married family man with a distinguished career in Oil and gas, who grew up in rural Texas and was in 4H and FFA to lead our university out of this liberal cesspool ?

Homosexuality is X rated and should not be taught in a children's classroom. Heterosexuality is X rated and should not be taught in a children's classroom.
You should not talk about sex in a children's classroom.

Welsh has always been woke. I made that comment when he was first interviewed. All donations should stop until he is fired. He is an embarrassment. He believes that he can not be touched.

Yeah! Get rid of any reference to a romantic couple in a child's classroom or in their lives. Put blinds over their heads until they are old enough to see a couple together. Separate them by gender, so not let them intermingle until they are 18 at least!

President is appointed by the Board. Board members are appointed by state governor.
We won't have administrative stability/alignment until the state has the right governor. Who knows when that'll be.
Plot twist! POTUS tells Governor who should run A&M and it happens. We can all have fantasies of things getting done and making libs cry, right?!

A statement from Texas A&M University President Mark A. Welsh III:

He's trying hard now to undo his own doings.
Step aside Welsh before youre fired. You made this situation and fought a student over it. You should have respected her valid complaints and handled them correctly. Instead, you double downed and lectured us (her) on why LGBTQ is necessary in children's literature classes and scoffed at her saying that the lecturer should be fired.

Notice that he didn't apologize for the content, just that it had been not been advertised as part of the course curriculum.
It also said the dean and department head were removed from their administrative positions, but said nothing about their faculty teaching positions.
He isn't against teaching transgenderism at all as long as it's in the properly labeled courses. In a sane world, this non apology would get him fired.

The search committee just landed on MF Barnes
Col Fossum seems like a great choice from my interaction with him.

Gay people can do that
Queer people can't. They adhere strictly to woke fundamentalism. And tie their sexual preferences to revolutionary Marxism. So everything they do must advance the cause , laws or classrooms be damned
