I assume our BOR and Governor Abbott have a vetting process for the presidents we hire. How do we hire people who can't read the room and realize we live in a conservative state?

Wow. There is some real anger being posted here. I haven't been paying much attention to what he's up to until now. We just can't seem to get this pick right unless the minority is being the loudest here. Is this about to boil over?

Well, yeah, they were buddies in the corps. Sharp has always been horrible and pretty much everything he touched. And I can't prove it, but I swear to God he was drunk during the day. I used to be in meetings from time to time where he came to occasionally, and I always got the most skeevy feeling from him.

My shocking take that would have been normal 5 minutes ago, and this is not sexualizing children:

It's not only okay but normal and healthy for kids books to have families in them, and those families should have a mom and a dad. That is the basic family unit that society is built on, and it's the ideal. That doesn't mean there aren't exceptions to the ideal, but a man and woman getting married and having kids is the ideal.

This SHOULD be taught to kids through characters in stories. The right has learned the wrong lesson from the left. The left wants to teach leftist values to kids. The right has said "how dare you, don't teach kids values!" That's the wrong response. Kids should be taught values - good and healthy values that are society and Western society were built upon.

...but they can't. The loudest ones themselves know deep down that it is not normal and need normal people to validate them, thus all the hoopla. Everyone is so sick of it, that most of us (including me) have adopted your stance so that we just don't need to hear it anymore.

We will all have some splaining to do one day, have fun playing the victim card that day. I'm trying to shorten my list as much as possible.

I learned this afternoon that key leaders in the College of Arts and Sciences approved plans to continue teaching course content that was not consistent with the course's published description. As a result, I directed the provost to remove the dean and department head from their administrative positions, effective immediately. Our students use the published information in the course catalog to make important decisions about the courses they take in pursuit of their degrees. If we allow different course content to be taught from what is advertised, we let our students down. It also said the dean and department head were removed from their administrative positions, but said nothing about their faculty teaching positions.

He isn't against teaching transgenderism at all as long as it's in the properly labeled courses. In a sane world, this non apology would get him fired.

Oh, he's very careful about how he words his comments as well as how the courses were in their comments and descriptions. Basically he saying continue to do what you're doing, keep teaching the liberal bull**** but don't get caught and just disguise it as something else. Unfortunately for him in the time of iPhones and video they're not gonna get away with it much longer.

Remember a few months ago, the same guy put a zoom call with Welsh leading it with maybe 10 to 12 other people and he was basically saying the same thing. We're not doing it, wink wink, but keep doing it under other guises.

No one cares if people are gay and they're not hiding from it. They can live their lives, however the hell they want to. It just does not need to be talked about and taught in classrooms? No one needs to be lectured on anyone's lifestyle. Again, they're not special. People's sexuality and lifestyles have nothing to do with education in schools in classrooms. Not a ****ing thing.

Looking back on some of my teachers that were in elementary, junior high and high school there were some of course we realized at the time were but others I think most likely were but you know what none of them ****ing talked about it not one of them. We didn't know what they did outside of school they were there to teach us. Thank God I grew up in the 70s and 80s.
