All this AI generated diatribe proves is that the Democrats and their media allies did a good job of smearing Paxton in the public domain.

I watched a lot of the trial, and it was a joke. The House impeachment managers were thoroughly humiliated by Paxton's team. You can bet if there was one shred of real evidence, Paxton would have been found guilty on at least one of the multiple charges. The impeachment was a RINO led distraction/witch hunt/retribution that should never have been brought forward.

Agreed. But let's also not give the GOP a pass just because the D's are anti-American and consistently lie to the public about their intentions. Both sides campaign to the right of where they actually govern, and both sides lie to their constituents because their constituents have fallen prey to the false reality that only a two party system is functional with D and R being the only choices, and we must play the game as team vs team rather than policy vs policy.

I don't disagree. But electing Paxton will be a move to the right from where we are. And he's not afraid to shake things up. Cornyn wants to go to all their swamp parties.

That's not all they don't understand. Just saw an ad about Paxton, as AG, failing to put common criminals behind bars. You know the one job District Attorneys have within their respective jurisdictions. AGs cannot order DAs to do their jobs nor arrest and bring charges against someone they have declined to prosecute and have released.

Cornyn has been both a Texas AG AND on the state supreme court. He knows how those jobs have lanes of what they can and cannot do. Blaming Paxton for the actions or inactions of Soros funded prosecutors is just lame plus stupid in a political campaign.

Attack ads have a limited use. Saturating every available media outlet with them not only tends to fall on increasingly deaf ears as they wear on but also make Paxton appear to be the victim.

Same as the bogus cases against Trump resulted in more sympathy for him and he increased his numbers from the 2020 election in 2024. (Putting the 2020 fraud aside for the moment.) And for what? To be able to scream, "Thirty-four felony convictions!" and the voting public saw through that and resoundingly retorted, "WE DON'T CARE!"

Oh I agree completely with you regarding Paxton. My post was more directed towards the Cornyn types and their supporters. People being willing to vote for new blood with Paxton is a nice change of pace from the status quo and in my opinion a sign that we might be moving away from "playing to not lose" and towards "playing to win".

Trump in 2016 was a big move in that direction but those gains have started to fizzle, so hopefully that fire can be rekindled in a conservative direction.

Yep, they killed two birds with one stone. The were able to avoid dealing with actual conservative legislation, and the Bush/Bonnen/Phelan/Burrows wing got to go after their pound of flesh.

They were only half successful, and it did expose their true agenda and motives. Paxton winning this Senate race would be poetic justice.

Everything in that AI-senerated burb is sourced and true. Not as many Texans agree that Paxton was innocent. Not even some of the senators who voted to acquit.

I watched all of the Paxton trial. I was impressed in particular with Mitch Little (Buzbee's #2). However, after watching it closely I came to the conclusion that:

1. Paxton was using the color of his office to punish Nate Paul's business competitors
2. Paxton was a philandering fool
3. He should have been impeached for #1, not 2. But 2 was bad politically, especially when running against so-called choir boys like Talarico.

I recall talking to a state senator after the defense rested, He was thinking he'd vote to impeach. Suddenly all of that changed by the next morning because Lt Gov Dan Patrick gave marching orders to his posse that night, powered by a $3 million campaign donation from Paxton's buddy Tim Dunn.

I can't think of a single IF scenario that would make me vote for a Dem.

But the mailer this week said that Paxton gave $250K to help settle Afghan refugees, while Cornyn fought to prevent Sharia law.

Anyway, good for Paxton on that one. We helped settle a family through Houston Welcomes Refugees. The dad was the chief pediatric surgeon at his hospital. He posts regularly on-line against the Taliban regime. If he gets sent back with his 6 kids, they'll all be slaughtered in the runway.
