Been reading several accounts of how scared people are to get laid off, that it's an apocalypse, fear running rampant etc.
Forgive me if I don't give a rats ass about their fear.
I've been dragging my ass out of bed at 5:30 am for over 30 years with the idea hanging over my head that if I didn't do a good enough job I'd be fired. I've worked hard to be a high potential employee, maintain my skills and add value to the companies I've worked for.
Even with all that they've got me twice.
My first company forced ranked a bottom 10% which were culled pretty much every year. Most decent employees who had their turn in the barrel.
The good thing is that even though it was tough to go through each time I came out a better person and had a better position in my next company.
I'm sure it'll be the same once these people get off the government largess.

I was laid off from two jobs back to back thanks to Obama. One of those jobs was one that Americans wouldn't do *cough* bs. I was there for 4 months and was part of the first cut. They kept all illegals over Americans that were in my department. I don't give two ****s about anyone in the government losing their jobs.

If they accept the 8 month delayed resignation offer, then they are still employed until then, I believe.
If you get a package to leave immediately, you can file for unemployment. It is not much though. $444 a week for DC.
