The Washington Post long ago became an arm of the swamp, merely publishing leftist propaganda, and apparently Bezos is tired of losing so much money to do so. I support the pending layoffs, as a weakening of the left's propaganda machinery is good for the republic.

What were the losses in 2025? We don't know but probably similar to 2024. In other words, Bezos has probably spent more than a quarter billion dollars keeping the paper going for just 3 years. And my guess is that all the metrics are going in the wrong direction. In other words, there's no end in sight to the losses. But the staff reaction to his attempt to stop the bleeding is that he's not a good steward.

Halperin had a good interview with their one-time 'fact checker' Glenn Kessler last year, where the latter even claimed they couldn't write for conservative views because their readership was so left, or they'd lose subscribers if I recall correctly. Really, the whole conversation was fairly hilarious.

That we are STILL paying the salary of these types/groups is infuriating.
