The entitlement runs deep with these folks. They really believed they owned Washington and the apparatus of our federal government, and that anyone who would question them or demand accountability is somehow the enemy.

To the contrary, Trump winning and taking a sledgehammer to the place is the best thing that could have ever happened to Washington. I just pray he can enact measures that will keep the rot from coming back after he leaves office.
He needs to relocate many of the major agencies to red states and stop letting all the power concentrate in DC. Having to go to block parties in a suburb on the weekends and hear real people talk about real problems instead of hobnobbing with the DC elite while laughing at the peasants would make a big difference.
Think you need to also get all the House & Senate reps out of DC. There is no need for them to meet in person. We have the technology to meet and vote securely (enough for congressional votes) from remote locations. All reps should be forced to live full time in the district they represent.
I don't care where they meet, but I want to greatly shorten the legislative session and make it like Texas where there are months at a time where the leg is not in session and they can go home and be in their communities.

The idea behind making them meet remote is to cut tax payer costs. If they don't meet in DC, there is no reason for the tax payer to pay for them to travel to DC. They currently maintain atleast 2 homes (district & DC) and stick the tax payers with travel expenses.

I've also seen suggestions that they should also only be paid the median income of their represented district but I didn't originally mention that because we were talking about locations.

$2 billion 'award' for…a Stacey Abrams organization with a hundred bucks in the bank?

Quote:

DOGE discovered $2 billion in taxpayer funds set aside for a fledgling nonprofit linked to perennial Georgia Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams.

The Environmental Protection Agency under the Biden administration awarded Power Forward Communities the grant in April 2024 as part of the agency's Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund program. Power Forward Communities received the green energy grant despite the fact that it was founded months earlier in late 2023 and never managed anywhere near the grant's dollar figureit reported just $100 in total revenue during its first three months in operation, according to its latest tax filings.

Power Forward Communities' grant was one of just eight Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund grants that the EPA doled out in April 2024 and that, altogether, totaled $20 billion. EPA administrator Lee Zeldin announced on Feb. 13 that his staff and Department of Government Efficiency officials discovered that the Biden administration parked that same $20 billion at an outside financial institution before leaving office, limiting the federal government's oversight of the program.

The revelation that Power Forward Communities is among the beneficiaries of the funds Zeldin's team located raises ethics questions about how the Biden administration selected recipients of such massive grants and whether it played favorites when doling those grants out. Abrams was a vocal proponent of the Biden administration's green energy agenda and campaigned for former vice president Kamala Harris.
Of course "Habitat for Humanity" is also involved. Carter scumbags:
Quote:

Power Forward Communities is a nonprofit coalition that was awarded a $2 billion National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to offer financing for residential carbon emission-reduction projects. It provides loans to homeowners and developers to replace appliances and make other upgrades to homes to make them more energy efficient.

Background

Power Forward Communities is a nonprofit organization founded in 2023 by Enterprise Community Partners, Rewiring America, Habitat for Humanity International, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and United Way Worldwide (United Way). It is a coalition of nonprofit organizations, private companies, municipalities, housing developers, financial institutions, labor unions, and utility companies that advocate for publicly funded carbon emissions-reduction efforts that would replace appliances with newer ones and reduce use of conventional energy.

It really is that simple.

Our elected officials should be ashamed that they failed at their role of oversight and let the bureaucracy morph into this tangled web of agencies and appointed, unaccountable officials. It is an unmitigated disaster that has cost the American taxpayers trillions of dollars and forced untold needless hardships through bad policy.

I am more appreciative of Musk every day for his willingness to take this thankless task on. It's time we returned a government that serves the people, not the other way around.

I hope Bondi investigates this and Abrams ends up spending a lot of time in prison. There is no way this wasn't riddled with fraud and abuse along with all the wasteful spending.

I still say put Ashleigh Merchant in a US Attorney for the ND of Georgia. Pit bull who would delve into all of Abrams and Fanni Willis' corruption as well.

It is kind of funny and kind of sad to see huge numbers of federal employees who were loudly proclaiming their intent to "RESIST!" by refusing to implement the president's policies and to try to undermine his appointees who are now loudly complaining about how it is unconstitutional for an unelected advisor to the president to get them fired. They were perfectly willing to subvert the functioning of the executive branch's elected and appointed leaders, but now are upset that somebody else unelected is disrupting their grift.

I will leave it to the expert and agree whole heartedly with you. As long as they put the heat on Abrams and make her answer for it. This graft cannot be overlooked or ignored. There has to be consequences.

$2 billion given to people who haven't had a billionth of that in their coffers?

The astronomical number itself is mind-boggling.

It's getting infuriating. I'm glad every time they announce something like this, but it really is maddening. I'm beginning to think there was so much of this stuff going on that the federal budget could be balanced or even in the black in one year just by cutting out all the waste, fraud, and abuse. The scale of it was unimaginable to me.

We've been the wealthiest country in the world since the end of WW2 so that's 80 years of having the highest GDP of any other country yet we're 36 trillion in debt. Not coincidentally five of the wealthiest counties IN THE WORLD are suburbs of Washington D.C.

Ashleigh completely shredded Fanni Willis and her Boo, Nathan Wade. Then during the other weird Fanni trial of Young Thugs, judge went off of the rails (and I mean COMPLETELY off of the rails) by throwing defense counsel in jail for contempt. Ashleigh and 26 of her defense counsel colleagues were at the courthouse and banging on the courtroom door within half an hour to get their fellow defense attorney out of jail. She got that OOC judge tossed from the case.

And within the last week, she submitted a brief to the GA state Supreme Court to keep Fanni disqualified from the Trump case. I have a shemance with Ashleigh. Kick ass lawyer.

But wait, there's more, as usual. They had to quickly (21 days) distribute the $2 billion, and then had 90 days to take a class on how to manage a budget.

People need to go to jail. Quickly.

"On Page 1, the grantee is given 21 days to distribute $2+ BILLION."

"On Page 6, the grantee is given 90 days to complete "How to Develop a Budget" training."

No other way to parse it, this is criminal. I pray stuff like this is burned into the collective memory of the American public and they remember well how Biden and his Democrat enablers treated their tax dollars. People absolutely need to go to prison. It's the only deterrence that may have a lasting effect down the road.

It's not fun at all, but to prevent this crap from happening in the future, it would be a nice deterrent…

What I think will happen is that the bad folks will be outed…maybe prosecuted…but I expect voters will demand that Congress pass legislation that implements safeguards which prevents this type of nonsense to continue…

It is why people are furious and do not care about federal employees losing their jobs. Government and schools always "spend it or lose it" rather than protecting taxpayer money.

Aside from the time I worked for a huge tech company, the small businesses I have worked for valued every dollar. In management, I have always underspent my budget to protect ownership's bottom line. It isn't my money.
