My understanding is they did 2/3 of it through executive order and 1/3 had to go through congress. I think the current is around what can be done by executive order vs. legislative action.

Looks like dems may be about to be sorry they asked for "transparency". I am sure they were hoping for little watched congressional oversight hearings or cumbersome and unreadable reports filled with spreadsheets. Not all their fraud and waste broadcast to the world in easily re-tweetable posts.

I will be sending this to the new DOGE SEC STATE group investigating the State Department:

The fellowship programs in question are the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program and the Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Program. A group of foreign service officers hired under those programs authored the previously unreported Nov. 14 memo, obtained through a Center to Advance Security in America public records request.

Both fellowships court university students for a two-year stint in America's diplomatic corps. The Blinken-led State Department advertised them as part of an effort to "genuinely enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in the federal workforce."

The programs, according to a November 2022 edition of the agency's in-house magazine, "have increased the number of Foreign Service generalists from underrepresented groups by 33% and the number of women by 6%."

The programs also sparked an internal "resistance" against the State Department's marginal support for Israel under President Joe Biden, according to the internal emails.

When Benghazi happened, veterans of the Foreign Service knew immediately it was a top secret weapons deal that caused the Ambassador to be at that Consulate.

The first two years of Clinton, the deficit was over $200 billion (sounds like a rounding error now). Only after Republicans were elected to Congress in '94 and implemented reductions in the rate of growth (there were few, if any, actual "cuts"), did it start falling, eventually leading to a surplus. Clinton, as I said on another thread the other day, kept proposing budgets even after his reelection with $200 billion deficits. It had already been balanced and he kept finding ways to break the budget.

I mean, sure, SOME of this was grade A hypocrisy but most of it was because they knew Clinton was blowing smoke and would say anything to get reelected and stay relatively popular.

This. Where did the money go? Those checks had payees and should have account numbers on the endorsements.

DING DING DING! Yup, once an elderly reaches a certain age their children or even grand-children cash the checks to keep up the payments to the retirement facility or not even that, staying with them.

Once s/he passes they cash the first one to "help pay for the funeral" then the next one to "help with the grieving process" and then "to plant flowers on his/her grave." It never ends and they certainly don't notify SS that the checks haven't stopped.

Also, yes, a S*** ton of illegals and their SS cards (many sharing the same one since the SS database doesn't check for duplicates) which allows them to receive those benefits and of course, to vote.

Burn it all down!
