Mrs Van Duyne, I am writing because I am abhorred at the omnibus spending bill that congress is trying to ram through. This bill is not what I voted for when I cast my ballots to elect you, Senator Cruz, John Cornyn, and President Trump. We are paying $1.2T in interest on our debt and we, the taxpayers, who have seen our costs rise nearly 40% in 5 years, are paying for these nonsensical bills. Please tell me how you plan to vote on this budget and if you are able to sway other members of congress to stop this bill from passing. Thank you!

Strike the objection made about pay raise. Enough have posted that its almost adjustment level though sounding large increase.

Instead, GET rid of this --- any bio weapon gain-of-function research we can do without. Its best it never be invented. If they mean for other things, put in a rider that it can't be GOF for increasing lethality or transmission experiments.

Personally, I'm ok with a pay raise to Congress....

If it's presented transparently in a clean bill. Don't bury it in an Omnibus pork extravaganza disguised as a continuing CR.

The CR should be simple and clean, getting us to a new Congress where a full budget is proposed and debated.

It's time this BS stops. I emailed Michael McCaul telling him to vote NO and BE VOCAL about his opposition. I also reminded him I will be watching this vote. Keep the pressure on, folks.

If Johnson has ever run using the term "FIGHT" in his campaign, I'm left wondering why, when he is Speaker, he talks of how the Dems are in power, and argues that he must CAVE to their demands.

Let's be realistic.

Johnson does not have the votes for a clean CR, as he has said. He has a 3 seat majority.

The next Speaker will have a 2 seat majority next session.

Does anyone know where Tony Gonzalez stands on this bill? I've looked on his site and his x account, but haven't seen anything.
