Indeed. And with how often that bill was being tweaked and tinkered with, new versions every few days. Proud of the Boomers' dedication in that respect.

But he did want it originally?! Ok then.

Who is to say he didn't? Johnson is a patsy. Send him out with an idea, see how many people like or hate it and then come out with your view. Especially on stuff like this.

And your point? The CR discussed in your video passed prior to the election because Dems thought they would win and be able to fully open the cookie jar right about now.

They didn't win. Republicans did. And Johnson is trying to open the cookie jar anyway. He needs to grow a pair, and do the same small extension. Then REALLY bring out the knives to the budget in the new year.

THIS is what he, Trump, and Republicans in the House and Senate were elected to do.

The point was obvious.

How many times will this story repeat before you realize how it always ends?
This is where we disagree. I still believe in the power of the people. We're seeing it right now. I predict we'll see this pork-fest pulled in favor of a clean CR.

I am tired of the "how it always ends" excuse. (The seven deadly words). And yet, in the grand scheme of things, massive Omnibus bills masquerading as CRs is a relatively new phenomenom.

Join us and be vocal in demanding a return to true accountability, if you haven't completely given in to your DC overlords...

Let's be realistic.

Johnson does not have the votes for a clean CR, as he has said. He has a 3 seat majority.

The next Speaker will have a 2 seat majority next session.

Then shut the government down until they do pass a clean CR.

While it is so sketchy to throw it in these massive bills, Congress hasn't received a raise in 15 years. I'll give them a pass. Indexed to inflation, they hasn't been paid less since WWII.

Underpaying Congress just allows the bad actors to rationalize the corrupt behavior ("well I'm not paid much so I deserve this")
Personally, I'm ok with a pay raise to Congress....

If it's presented transparently in a clean bill. Don't bury it in an Omnibus pork extravaganza disguised as a continuing CR.

The CR should be simple and clean, getting us to a new Congress where a full budget is proposed and debated.

It's time this BS stops. I emailed Michael McCaul telling him to vote NO and BE VOCAL about his opposition. I also reminded him I will be watching this vote. Keep the pressure on, folks.

That's exactly what I thought was supposed to happen before now. And as a standalone bill with a roll call vote, would be fine with me.

However, the same should also apply when they exempt themselves from a law they pass. Standalone on the exemption after universal coverage within the first act of legislation. Again, roll call vote so we have transparency.

They love using the threat of shutting down the government which in reality never happens. Only thing that actually gets their attention is their paychecks and they never get cut off.

I am glad to see that it seems like the TX delegation has by far the most public no votes. So far. I'm pretty sure FL will start on that path. DeSantis is now whipping votes against it and has some public statements. Wouldn't be surprised to see this go down in flames.

There will probably be a 3 part piece of legislation: CR, Farm and Disaster relief. That's still probably too much but it will be 100x better than this CR.

However, there were substantial increases in wealth of the members who fell into this category. For the 49 members who went from a negative net worth to a positive net worth, the average increase was $3.4 million per member.

Meanwhile, Congress is considering a spending bill that would give sweetheart provisions for government censors and for Liz Cheney. The bill would make it easier to hide the records of the corrupt January 6 committeewhich accomplished nothing for the American people and hid security failures that happened that day. This bill would also give Congress a pay increase while many Americans are struggling this Christmas.

Increasing the debt ceiling is not great but we'd rather do it on Biden's watch. If Democrats won't cooperate on the debt ceiling now, what makes anyone think they would do it in June during our administration? Let's have this debate now. And we should pass a streamlined spending bill that doesn't give Chuck Schumer and the Democrats everything they want.

Republicans want to support our farmers, pay for disaster relief, and set our country up for success in 2025. The only way to do that is with a temporary funding bill WITHOUT DEMOCRAT GIVEAWAYS combined with an increase in the debt ceiling. Anything else is a betrayal of our country.

Republicans must GET SMART and TOUGH. If Democrats threaten to shut down the government unless we give them everything they want, then CALL THEIR BLUFF. It is Schumer and Biden who are holding up aid to our farmers and disaster relief.
