However, the same should also apply when they exempt themselves from a law they pass. Standalone on the exemption after universal coverage within the first act of legislation. Again, roll call vote so we have transparency.
They love using the threat of shutting down the government which in reality never happens. Only thing that actually gets their attention is their paychecks and they never get cut off.

Wildcard is the stock market action today. The Fed slowed their forecast for cuts. We were due for correction but it's going to be harder for Trump to implement what he wants if the market has a 10% correction to start his administration. Post Trump election rally almost wiped out today.
The new Congress starts January 3rd and looks like it will be in a standstill trying to figure out who will be speaker.
Johnson hasn't done one thing as speaker to advance the conservative agenda.
