Honest answer - I have no idea. I do not know.

He won't have rallies nearly that big. Don't think anyone thinks he would.

Doubt it but all that matters is who shows up to vote. I'm not going to waste my Saturday at a campaign rally in Waco but I'll vote for DeSantis when the time comes.

I have no idea but I do know the thousands at the rallies for Trump didn't give him a victory last time so if that's the barometer for success it needs recalibration.

I know this is anecdotal but I'll say it anyway. My neighborhood is VERY conservative yet one of my good friends (also an Aggie) confided to me that he and his wife voted Biden and straight ticket Republican down the ballot in 2020.

I tried to convince him not to but he was steadfast...he and his wife were tired of the circus that Trump was leading and wanted it to stop. I think there were a LOT of suburban voters (mostly women) who were tired of mean tweets and wanted it to end.

DeSantis might not generate the circus like rallies Trump has but I guarantee you millions of suburban voters will vote for him that voted against Trump last time.

A few thousand diehards at a rally in the middle of a red state is irrelevant. What matters is the hundreds of thousands in GA, AZ, PA and other swing states who will stay home or vote dem because he's the nominee. Can't understand why people don't get that.

Thousands attend? I'm sure he will. Will they be as big and eventful as Trump's? Doubtful. Trump wins the entertainer contest hands down and there are likely people from all over Texas and some from outside of Texas that will come to see him. Many will be there to see him for the 5th or 10th time. They love the guy and those events are a blast.

The issue is what is he going to do with it. I'm sure he will take his digs at DeSantis and get cheers. I'm sure he will talk about how he is being unfairly treated by the Dems and Justice Department and MSM. That's all good. It's also nothing new and it isn't moving the needle.

It's ironic to me that he has Ted Nugent opening for him btw doing some special Star Spangled Banner rendition. I remember the "Behind the Music" on Nugent where Sammy Hagar talked about his shows. He said, "The first time I went it was just unbelievable, never seen anything like it, just loved every minute!" Next time I went it was, "Yeah that was fun, he really puts on a great show." By the 3rd time it was "Yeah, it's cool but it's kind of the same thing." That's how most other people view Trump rallies.

If Trump wants to win he needs to get some new messaging and show how he is going to move the country forward. He needs to stop focusing on how he is a victim (even though he has reason to feel that way) and he needs to stop with the attacks on DeSantis. Sympathy is a weak reason to vote for someone, especially an "Alpha" like Trump and more importantly it wears off. Those arguments are already getting stale and they are going to be a liability in a year when it matters. He needs to come up with some fresh material or else he is going to wake up behind and unable to catch up.

Have fun though, as I said it should be entertaining and I'm sure you will see lots of your friends there since like I said it is mostly the same folks who go time after time with a few new folks mixed in.

The Republicans could run Alexander the Great and still lose with the current system in place and by the way, it is legal to harvest votes, the democrats have covered their ass.

Trump claims he has a way to beat them at their own game.
If that was true he would be in Wisconsin right now holding the rally with Judge Kelly by his side telling every person there they need to go canvas tomorrow and get every Republican they know to vote. Trump can get a lot of folks to show up at a rally but he is terrible at actually organizing them to make a difference. Will he even have someone taking names and numbers and getting them to sign up to volunteer?

Your premise has also been proven wrong repeatedly. Kemp in Georgia, Youngkin in Virginia, the Congressional races in NY and Cali last cycle, and of course what DeSantis has done in Florida have shown it simply isn't the case and is defeatist. Run a candidate that has at least some crossover ability (that isn't about policy btw it's about personality because most of those folks are actually good with conservative policy) and organize and win.

So explain Florida. Did DeSantis harvest dead voters because that state had a LOT of blue in it and he won in a landslide. In fact, didn't Trump accuse DeSantis of cheating in Florida? Sounds like Ron is EXACTLY who we need if we want to win when cheating is the norm.

Size of rally crowds only indicates enthusiasm of support, not number of supporters. Trump had enormous crowd sizes at his rallies that dwarfed anything Biden or Clinton could ever dream of. Yet he lost the popular vote in both 2016 and 2020.

I don't think this is something the die hard Trump fans understand. An enthusiastically cast vote carries no more weight that a reluctantly cast one does.

Trump support is passionate, not large.

I went to a Trump event when he came through Austin a few months ago as part of the American Freedom Tour or whatever...mostly out of curiosity and to spend the day with my dad, who lives there.

Really wish I hadn't. It was a total con.

Tickets were expensive, the event dragged on all damn day, and most of it was a four hour long sales pitch for some BS "beat the stock market" gimmick that thousands of the lemmings there lapped up like thirsty dogs.

Mike Pompeo was there, which was kinda cool, but then some clown from the event kept throwing up a QR code on the jumbotron and telling the crowd to "pressure the person next to you to donate"...

Really felt like a scam and a money grab. Food options were terrible. I'm talking a 30 minute wait in line for cold personal size pizza and a coke. That's it.

When Trump finally did come on stage I was ready to leave, and his speech was boring and canned.

Not just conservatives either but tons of independents either sat out or more than likely held their nose and voted for pee paw.

Was there "cheating" by the Dems, absolutely but a lot of it was from motivated Dems willing to harvest those illegal votes because they hated Trump with a passion.

If it's Biden vs DeSantis I seriously doubt you'll have the passion in the rank and file dems they need to pull it off again.
