Bush served as a pilot in the NG. Clinton and Trump actively avoided service. Obama certainly wanted nothing to do with the miliary. Actually you are kind of making the point, just not how you expected. Biden didn't care about events or issues, he spent all his resources on lawyers to get election laws that were favorable and on harvesting votes. Trump had big rallies to make people get excited but didn't organize that into a true grass roots campaign.

Problem is Trump hasn't learned though. He used his event in Waco to sell Commemorative Knives and turn off voters by bashing DeSantis instead of building an organization to GOTV. Trump might say he is going to get into ballot harvesting but he isn't actually doing anything.

Churchill was actually an excellent junior officer in the British Army who volunteered to serve in Afghanistan and then volunteered again to cover the wars in Sudan and in South Africa

not to mention he gave up a seat in Parliament to serve as a Colonel on the front lines in Belgium with the BEF during World War I.

The Churchill comparison was especially great. First saw combat in Cuba, multiple expeditions in India, combat in South Africa (where he was taken POW and escaped) and of course, served on the Western Front in 1915-1916.
