Does anyone know if there is a list of U.S. athletes who have experienced heart, blood, and circulatory issues since the vaccine rollout. Maybe nothing has changed, but in the last year and a half I recall the following NFL players having clot and heart problems and it seems much higher than should be expected for healthy young men.

Vin Curry Jets 8/21 blood clots
Graham Glasgow Broncos 9/21 Irregular heartbeat
JJ Watt Cardinals 9/22 heart arythmia
Henry Anderson Panthers 10/2022 stroke
Max Mitchell Jets 12/22 blood clots
Damar Hamlin Bills 1/23 heart attack

I would be interested in seeing comparable data pre-vax.

Anecdotally, it does seem like it's happening more, but I don't know if it's because we're hyper-sensitive to these events because of the jab or if there is an actual major spike.

People also didn't rush to politics boards to post about athletes with clots issues pre-vax.

When Chris Bosh ended his career due to blood clots it would have been on the NBA board.

from the national blood clot alliance:
https://www.stoptheclot.org/blood-clot-information/blood-clots-in-the-united-states/

ON AVERAGE, 274 PEOPLE DIE EVERY DAY FROM BLOOD CLOTS
  • 107 to 130 cases of potentially deadly blood clots occurred each year per 100,000 Caucasian individuals from 1985 through 2002. This translates into about 1 to 3 cases per 1,000 people.
  • 250,000 cases of potentially deadly blood clots, such as deep vein thrombosis or DVT, occurred each year between 1966 through 1990.
  • 900,000 cases per year are now suggested by recent scientific modeling and public health statistics.
  • 100,000 to 300,000 deaths from blood clots occur each year, which is greater than the total number of people who lose their lives each year to AIDS, breast cancer, and motor vehicle crashes combined.
  • 600,000 non-fatal cases of deadly blood clots occur each year, of which 40% are blood clots in the lungs and 60% are blood clots in the legs.
  • 547,596 hospitalizations due to blood clots occurred from 2007 2009.

they also say that a risk factor is surgery, severe trauma, vein injury like from a severe muscle injury, or hip or knee replacement surgery. NFL players are healthy young men in some ways, but playing NFL football also exposes you to some substantial specific risks. it may well be that blood clots due to bruising is one of them. with such a small sample size it seems like it would be difficult to know.

i suspect it is just the BaaderMeinhof phenomenon... once notice something once you become sensitive to it and it seems like its everywhere.

The conspiraloons trying to sensationalize the Bills players situation without a clue of what actually happened are truly pathetic.

I wonder what they thought about the A&M football player who died of a blood clot in 2002, or the A&M football player who died of a heart condition while warming up in 1991?

Maybe let the facts come out first, and then commence with the conspiraloon hysteria.

As long as no one risks being called a loon for even wondering if the covid vax might be attributable at all or suggests that an investigation and real study should be commenced, it's all just anecdotal. Just don't ask questions, you silly conspiraloons.

Of course it has, and it is perfectly reasonable to ask if it is happening more frequently now and, if so, why?

Perhaps we could have better discourse of the issues if terms like "conspiraloon" weren't thrown around on the regular.

It's extremely concerning when one side is shouted down by merely asking questions, which after all, criticism is the backbone of the scientific method.

But apparently we're now lauding those who paint anyone who questions this "apparent" uptick in these types of incidents as loons, who should be shunned for wrong think.

Did you noticed that Sunray singled out only one of those events?

Trying to tie the Hamlin incident to the vax immediately after it happened, and with zero evidence that it is the vax, is what earns it a conspiraloon sticker.

Well one side has the legacy media and every alphabet agency at their disposal while the other is constantly referred to as ultra MAGA right wing conspiracy loons. I'd say the name calling is disproportionally slanted well in one direction.

I also see lots of qualifying statements like "if it's proven that these vaccines have caused this" then Fauci et all should rot in hell. I don't see many qualifying statements in the other direction, just flat out calling them conspiracy nuts and science deniers.

Tons of bad data in this link. No clue whether the person was vaccinated, including things like shortness of breath or cases like a police officer in Brazil, no reference to the what the numbers were before 2020. They even put Demaryous Thomas in there who the doctors said died from a seizure disorder he developed after a car wreck in 2019.

Anytime someone clearly has an agenda, maybe take a minute to actually look at what they are saying.

Let's just say that data is true. That could also come from the COVID virus itself which is known to cause myocarditis. I mean you guys have absolutely no clue what the vaccination status of the athletes in question even is, but you're acting like you are stating facts. I just find it ironic that this board was downplaying the risk of myocarditis before the vaccine and now that the vaccine has a small risk of myocarditis, a lot of y'all are talking about how terrible it is.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2011/jun/13/serena-williams-blood-clot-wimbledon

Serena Williams famously almost died from blood clots in 2011. Sometimes cardiac events happen.

I've seen very little actual data to suggest that the very limited number of cardiac events in professional athletes is statistically significant in volume. There's plenty of data showing the vaccine is safe - especially in comparison to COVID infection, even specifically on the subject of cardiac health.

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7035e5.htm

https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/united-states-rates-of-covid-19-deaths-by-vaccination-status?country=~50%2B

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9319484/

This data is out of date, but still relevant... All-cause mortality is lower in vaccinated populations than unvaccinated across ALL demographics.

so just out of curiosity i looked at their table. if you filter it for death you get 164 deaths globally in 2021.

this list of "athletes" includes events like "unnamed hockey player" in a beer league hockey game, a 38 year old motorcyclist dying while riding with friends, a 27 year old firefighter who was a high school soccer player, and a 42 year old mom dying on a park run. in other words, athlete here is a pretty loose category. i'd hazard a guess that half of people in the world fit into this category.

ages range from 26-53. the risk of heart attack for people in these age ranges in incidents per 100,000 person-years is:

20-29 : 2.1
30-39: 16.9
40-40: 97.6

and the study says mortality is around 4%.

their list looks like it is for the Americas, Europe, and Russia. Call it 2 billion people total, with a rough estimate 40% of people falling into the 26-53 age.

let's use the most conservative estimate. 2.1 per 100,000 person-years, on 740 million people, gives 15,540 heart attacks per year. 4% of those would be fatal, for something around 600 heart attacks. if we filter this by "athletes" we get 300.

they found 164. it seems the media is underreporting what would be a baseline number of heart attack related deaths in any year.

Yeah, because either asking a question or making a comment about something that is absolutely a current issue is so conspirlooney!!!!

Good God - it's a fuggin message board, that's what people do on it. Not like we are at the bedside of the player arguing over who gets what of his while he's still alive and can hear everybody.

Fact - the NFL had a vaccine mandate to keep playing
Fact - hear issues have trended upwards in the last year or two, with the only real change being vaccines and boosters

It's not a stretch to wonder if the two are potentially tied together. It's not some egregiously awful thing to make a statement or ask a question on a fuggin message board. Grow a pair, quit being such a poon and learn how to ignore the things that upset your delicate sensibilities.

I can get on board with this. Not gonna lie, when a buddy texted me right after it happened that a player collapsed and underwent CPR and was rushed off the field in an ambulance, my mind immediately went there. I do not think that is weird or crazy at all. But when I saw the hit to the chest and read more about it and sought information, I pretty quickly ruled that out. Not saying it's impossible. Maybe there is some small chance his heart was already compromised from the vaccine, but imo that would be highly highly unlikely.

if he just collapsed on the sidelines or walking out on the field I think people would be fools not to wonder if vaccine related...but that's not at all what happened.

This is foolish imo.

Polls show that almost all democrats wanted people like me fired and for my family to suffer if I didn't get the fauci juice. 48% wanted people fined heavily or imprisoned for "spreading misinformation" or "questioning the efficacy" of the vax. 60% wanted us FORCIBLY QUARANTINED. And 30% WANTED MY CHILDREN TAKEN AWAY FROM ME until I got the vaccine.

We are not the f-ing same and I will never forget how easily the left cant be weaponized and driven by hatred and propaganda.

They absolutely f***ing started this. And this was just months after their braindead dear leader, and other heroes of the left like Kamala Harris, and Gov Cumo, were trying to scare the public from the vaccine and saying they wouldn't take it, purely for political reasons.

Democrat covidian brown shirts should ALWAYS be ridiculed. At least 90% of democrats fully supported the tyrannical mandates. That is infinitely worse than namecaling on a message board and they will NEVER hold the moral high ground on anything. Wish I could say what I truly wanted on here, but I'd be banned.

If there's a lesson in the past few years it's that people in general can be weaponized and driven to hatred by propaganda and social media. It's not a phenomenon exclusive to the left.

In the end the real stupidity is that opinions on the efficacy and safety of a vaccine has become a political litmus test.
