Sad loss of a strong, logical Conservative voice. He has been a consistent voice of reason for 30 years.

God Speed, Rush!

Rush had a radio segment where he would read off the names of people who died from AIDS. He called it AIDS Updates.

Thoughts and prayers.

As a long time listener, I don't recall that at all.

It's a safe bet that people who speak ill of Rush Limbaugh never listened to the show.

I heard his wife's tribute while de-icing my car.

Rush impacted tens of millions and will truly be missed.

Rush mentioned his faith in God many times recently and has entered His rest.

Well that settles it.

I first started listening to Rush when I was in elementary school in my Dad's pickup. I went to work with him every day in the summers. My first tractor was a John Deere 4440 with only AM radio. Every day was G. Gordon Liddy, Dr. Laura and Rush. I have listened to Rush for damn near his whole career. I am making my kids read his children's book series. The Greatest Of All Time. I hope my Dad greeted him in heaven this morning and thanked him personally for his service to our country.

Rush was the start of a journey for me. He led me to Walter Williams, which led to Thomas Sowell, which led to Milton Friedman, etc. I didn't want to think I was right as a conservative, I wanted to know it. He pushed me, and I'm sure many others toward the conservative intelligent thinkers of the day. Rush is where it all started for me.

I remember listening to him in the 90's during college. We would actually seek out restaurants that had "Rush Rooms". Were those a thing after the 90's? I even watched his short lived TV show. I didn't get to listen to him very much after school and work got in the way, but the man was immensely talented and one of a kind. RIP.

Yup. Here it is.
And this is example #194745273 of why I don't do Twitter anymore. When my wife told me about Rush dying, I said I imagine that Twitter is rejoicing. Sure enough.....

Also, I notice a lot of "here" comments. Isn't that specifically an Aggie thing, rather than just anybody? Not criticizing, just curious.

Still does not say that he read off names of people who died, which was your original assertion.

We all knew this day was going to come sooner rather than later given his prognosis. But it really doesn't make it hurt any less. Godspeed Rush. May you enjoy that great golden microphone in the sky.

And the Huffpo has the audacity to publish an article entitled "Rush Limbaugh, Bigoted King of Talk Radio Dies at 70."

Some people have no shame at all.
You should have heard Stelter on CNN

They started spreading this on Twitter. It's not true. He did AIDS updates before he went HUGE - similar to the environmental wacko updates, etc.

As usual, the same people whistling and blowing horns about Rush's death are just accusing him of doing what they do. Their constant projecting of what is in their hearts is unending.

Well, the same "community" blames Reagan for AIDS, as if Ronnie was having unprotected sex and sharing needles himself.

You know Rush succeeded when CNN smears him the day he died. Brian Stelter can only dream to as big a deal as Rush.

Ehh, I won't fault them. I celebrated Ginsburg going to Hell.

Yes, but Gingsburg actually made decisions that negatively affected this country and your life.

I could not care less if a radlib celeb dies, for example, Robert Deniro. Celebrating that is a whole other level of hate imo. That's where liberals live.

Why don't you tell the rest of the story, jackass?
Quote:

He killed a running bit on AIDS after two weeks. "It's the single most regretful thing I've ever done," he says, "because it ended up making fun of people who were dying long, painful and excruciating deaths, when they were not the target. It was a totally irresponsible thing to do."

So he did something in poor taste, stopped it after all of 2 weeks and publicly stated he regretted doing it.

If he did the bit every day for those 2 weeks that would be 2 of the 1,664 weeks he was on the air, meaning it represented 0.0012 of his show. Get over yourself.
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. It's inherent virtue is the equal sharing of miseries." - Winston Churchill
