I used to tape his show everyday while in class starting in 91 and continuing through about 95, then would listen to the show afterwards. I recently found several "Best of " tapes I had made, consolidating all of the great musical parodies and some special calls, including one the day of the "Black Hawk down" incident in Somalia. Need to get them converted to digital to save them.

RIP Rush. God speed to you.

And the Huffpo has the audacity to publish an article entitled "Rush Limbaugh, Bigoted King of Talk Radio Dies at 70."

Some people have no shame at all.

Rush was one of a kind, and his humor and intellect will now be absent from our daily lives. A huge void has been created with his passing.

Will be extremely hard to replace, likely impossible truly. I like some of the fill in guys he's used but not near up to par in terms of communicating simply the essence of the political events of the day/hour.

Posted something similar when he was first diagnosed. Started listening while at A&M in 88. Bonded with my dad over things Rush said or brought up. Could not wait to hear his comments on events of the day. He made everything make sense.
His books are still relevant today.
Saved AM radio.
Animal rights updates.
Environmentalist wacko updates.
Feminist updates.
When you hear "Back to Ohio" you don't think The Pretenders - you think Rush.
Paul Shanklin parody songs.
His CPAC speeches.
Largely responsible for Republican takeover of Congress in 94.
Introduced me to William Buckley, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell.
Snapple Tea.
My kids read Rush Revere.
Reciting the true story of Thanksgiving.
Mannheim Steamroller Christmas
His Christmas message with Silent Night in the background was a must listen to every Christmas.
An unapologetically proud American.
As he always reminded of us - his talent was on loan from God.

Damn. Started listening to him early 2000's when I worked the field. It was a day of Glen Beck, Rush, Hannity, Michael Savage.

Rush stood out among them. I loved his knowledge, humor and not so subtle praises of himself. Always made me chuckle.

I first started listening to him while riding the Cap Metro bus to and from class at UT in 89-90. The driver had it playing on the bus radio. Can't imagine that going on today.

Top 5 most influential men in my life, behind Jesus and my Dad. Opened my mind to the evil and corruption of our mainstream media which I can now spot from a mile away. RIP, "talent on loan from God".

My Dad started a local Rush group here in Monroe, La. in the early '90s. He called the group The Ditto Heads.

Rush was a part of our life.

I still remember the day in '88 my dad came home from work and told me about this great new radio guy that said things that made sense. I've been hooked ever since. RIP, El Rushbo.

Hard to top that. Most of all just his way getting to the bottom of things and yet always a bit upbeat and classic glass half-full. Never as tedious as TV catastrophism. And not `bigoted' at all --but a true believer in the American Ideal as it is sought, not as the elite describe it now.

Will miss the light associated.
