I have been outside 6 times during this situation and have not fallen once.

ZERO FALLS.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

This is the first day since all this started that we haven't had a blackout. They've typically been occurring every 3 hours, but today we've had power since we got up this morning.

Cronyism in government and industry is another absolute requirement of, and evidence for, third world ****holes.

this is exhibit 6 trillion that you live in a third world commie ****hole now.

anyone who voted for either party, especially the dem party candidate, and didnt do more is partly responsible. that includes me.

we let decades of de-education, race/class dividing tactics, and socialist government/industry corruption and monopolies fester, fully paid for by foreign money, for decades. we're ****ed.

Lots of good points, but the dems are not in control in Texas and haven't been so I'm not really following how they're behind this

I recommend the 84 count box from amazon. It's absurd, but eliminates the covid/supply drama around paper goods shopping that has enveloped the world since 2020.
I have a personal vendetta against ordering a single thing from Amazon. The Hubs still may have a membership but hasn't ordered anything from them for months and months and he wants to quit as he is as disgusted by all of their crap as well.

Yeah, we are getting cranky in our older age.

Find a local friend that does. Then give them the money. They can I have it shipped to you.

If your star is still good I'll do it for you. PM me if you want.

Which is a shame given that he would probably have ERCOT ranked in short order.

Pols are the problem. Not just dems. But clearly dems control the vast majority of texas by population, and thats where the influence is.

I am too. Notice that the ERCOT board...decides who gets to join them when one retires/steps down. The nominating committee is literally the current board.

What could possibly go wrong with such an incestuous organization with no liability for failures, and zero oversight?
ERCOT Chairwoman is from Michigan?!!!

Get a rope!

Luckily, "Cookie" wasn't a POC or this video would be deemed racist and removed from all platforms....

Everyone have power restored? ERCOT has been a bloated turkey since about 10AM yesterday. All the power should have been restored.

Only on the days you actually had power.

i am not sure how this will play out. There are some generators out there that sell on the spot market and made ridiculous money on paper. Maybe 10x their annual O&M costs? (I'm guessing here - if anyone knows please fill us in)

I'm not sure how they would get paid though.

You gotta have power lines down. Power is back up. No idea what demand is though.

Not until after Sunday Our water news

WATER UPDATE FOR CITY OF MEXIA FROM THE CITY MANAGER; SORRY IT IS NOT BETTER NEWS:
(1) Water Delivery Background: The City receives all of its water from a Water Treatment Plant that is located in Personville (16 miles away) and is operated by Bistone Municipal Water District. Bistone receives its water from multiple water wells in the Personville geographic area. Three of the wells have generator power.
(2) Update:
(a) Navasota Valley Electric Corporation (NVEC) provides electric power to the wells. NVEC is currently not providing power to Bistone's wells. NVEC says they will restore power to Bistone "when they can".
(b) Even if power were restored while I was typing this e-mail, were would still not be able to provide water until Saturday evening because of the reduced amount of water that has been flowing to the City since the last update.
(c) Bistone is currently providing water to us via the wells that have generators. The generators are running low on diesel but Limestone County is working with Bistone to get more diesel fuel.
(d) The amount of water that we can get into the City is limited by the amount of water that we can get from the three wells (on generators) to the Bistone water treatment plant and then pumped to the City.
(e) Given all these factors, our current calculations indicate it will be as late as Sunday evening before we can restore water to the City. All of the other mitigating factors that I published in the previous update (see next under) still apply.
(f) Bistone Municipal Water District has been working around the clock getting us water as quickly as they can, given the current constraints.
(g) I realize the timeline for water restoration keeps slipping. Please understand I am giving you the most accurate and up-to-date information that I have. As that information changes, the timeline may slip in either direction.
(3) Restoring water to the City is currently my number one focus as City Manager. I continue to look for options and alternatives.

Here y'all go - all outages should be done / if you are having outages check with your TDSP to make sure it's not transmission related

What is causing those demand cycles? They don't seem to match temperature changes.

Same question for big capacity rise with no load followed by capacity taper until we got very narrow reserve again an hour ago?

And thank you for sharing this info, it's great.

Yesterday the huge rise in supply was solar and wind - almost all of the load should have been restored yesterday but there are huge transmission outages so not sure what to make of what here.
