This casting is pretty insane. How is this not an actual, related family?

Oz got great cell reception down in those old subway tunnels.

Fred Astaire dancing around in Top Hat, tails, and shooting a machine gun. Very comic Penguin look

Young Penguin makes an impulsive decision to lock his bros in the tunnel and doubles down on that decision with no looking back. He made similar impulsive decisions like rattling out Sophia and shooting her brother, Mr. Maisel, at the beginning with similar follow up

Penguins Mom has Dementia with Lewy bodies. Same thing as Robin Williams

The Arkham parallels were nice, but why would Sophia put her niece in a home instead of keeping her herself? Maybe not her choice?

Was that Singin in the Rain Oz and his mom watched as his brothers drowned in a rainstorm?

Penguin is such a scumbag at every turn, but yet I'm still very curious to watch the story

A small detail I liked was showing Rex Calabrese was just some random street-level thug that was having a dude beat up on the street. Nothing like the guy he's been talking up the entire show.

Kind of goes to show he built up this persona mostly in his head, the ideal of what he wanted for himself, and not based in reality.
I also noticed that, and it's why details like that make this show so damn good. Os is a sociopath, he has been since he was a kid, hence what happened to his brothers. What he wants is the only thing that matters. He constructs narratives in his own head to justify what he does and who he wants to be. And since his mother has memory issues he's constantly shaping her reality as well, they only live partially in the real world, so much of what they both live in is a product of his imagination.

We don't know that Rex doesn't move up to be the Gotti like boss Penguin talked about.

Can we request a 24 hour non spoiler discussion? With the big SNF game and the return of Yellowstone tonight, a lot of us will probably wait until tomorrow to see the season finale.

Yellowstone can wait. And I'm sure you can avoid this thread until you've watched the finale, lol

I know the easy resolution is to avoid this thread, but I would like to read non spoiler reactions.
TCTTS

Just don't read the thread until tomorrow.

If you want to read reactions without spoilers, just know that most of those who have seen it say it's awesome and shocking.

There.

That should be enough to tide you over.

Also, out of the two, why not save Yellowstone for tomorrow? One's a finale and one's a premiere, not to mention, hints/spoilers/reactions for The Penguin are going to be all over social media here in a couple hours.

I wish that was an option for me. I've tried to get the wife to watch The Penguin with me but she's never been interested. She's a huge Yellowstone fan. Happy wife, happy life I suppose. See you all tomorrow.

Uh, so don't open the thread.

I suppose it's possible, but Reeves isn't the type to pull one over on fans and straight up lie like that. He's already said no Batman, so I'm guessing no Batman. Plus, enough people have already seen the finally that I feel like there'd be chatter by now. Unless Reeves & co left a final scene off the screener version and it's a big surprise tonight, but I doubt it. In terms of The Batman Part II, apparently the finale somehow hints at *a* villain for the next movie, and that's about it.

True, but we don't know he does either, and there's one episode left.

That's just the way I took it though.

I think we see him enter the frame right at the end, see the bat signal, see the Batmobile, or something to that effect. I doubt we see Pattinson, but definitely a sign of Batman about to get involved.
TCTTS

My guess is we see just the Batsignal, lighting up the sky, and maybe Penguin or someone looking up at it.

Predictions on the fates of Vic and Sofia?

(And please no hints if there's already "discussion" from early viewers.)

Really hoping for a Court of Owls hint/clue as well.

So far the Court of Owls, Hush, and Clayface have all been rumored as potential Part II villains. So look for some kind of potential hint/reference to one of them in the final five minutes or so.

My thoughts on death odds...

Francis: 100%
Sofia: 80%
Vic: 50%
Oz: 10%
TCTTS

I have absolutely no clue. I can see the argument for Sofia dying (cementing Penguin as the "final boss" heading into the next movie), but I can also see the argument for Sofia living (seeing as Cristin Milioti has been so good, and the character is so rich, that they want to keep her around). My gut says Vic is a goner tonight, though, but who knows.

As much as I want Sofia to live, I feel like logic dictates she has to die since the whole point of this show is to show us Oz's rise to power. And unless Reeves wants the show to be "required viewing" for Part II, I think they just start it with Oz running the underworld, and leaving non-viewers to fill in the gap and assume Oz grabbed the power after Carmine's death.

I would love to see an extended war that bleeds into the movie though.

I suppose it's also possible Sofia kills Francis and decides to leave Gotham after that.

Maybe he said no Bateman, and we just mis understood his desire to not include Justine in his cinematic universe.

Seems like he just wanted to judge reactions and then would have never watched if we all said it's bad.

Once he called him family, you could tell it was over for him...and it was so well written and acted too.
