It'll never match the power of the Superman III poster that told you, "This is a serious movie."

Looks like original Superman movie font too.

I like that score above. It's not as good as the original but it's good.

That is a good poster. But are they dropping Legacy from the title?

Yeah, it was officially dropped a few months ago. Gunn made an announcement, basically saying that it just felt right. And now we can start to see why, with the score and all.

To that end, it would be super (no pun intended) helpful if staff could change the thread title to something like...

*** SUPERMAN *** (James Gunn / DCU)
Missed that announcement apparently. This title is cleaner, and also pretty much a first since there has been no movie released with the title of Superman. The 1978 movie is officially Superman: The Movie (which I suppose was to differentiate it from the old TV series with George Reeves).

Guys.

They're using the Williams score.

But updated.

And it sounds incredible.

While the poster looks incredible.

This isn't silly or goofy or Gunny at all.

It's hopeful.

It's optimistic.

And I cannot ****ing wait.

Ok, this and that poster got me. Fingers crossed…

The buildup at the end of that tease feels like it's about to go right into the intro trumpets. My ears want more!!!

Exactly what I was saying a couple posts later. It's almost as if Gunn told Murphy to just meld the two scores. Which is weirdly perfect, seeing as neither could ever be topped.

Legit exactly what I was thinking. The music sounds amazing so far. I'm anxiously awaiting to see where they go. I've heard so far the script is really good.

DC has to nail this one to kick off the DCU.

Agreed. Creature Commandos really doesn't matter at all. Nail this and you're in a great spot, going forward.

It seems the trailer reactions from the press screening are embargoed, which is probably for the better, as I didn't want to know much more than this...

I wouldn't want it spoiled anyway! We've waited this long, so we can wait a couple more days.

Man, a version of this would make for an incredible teaser poster too.

Except do it as a photograph with real people, make the shadow a bit more distinct, but then have the "S" on a kid's t-shirt line up directly with where it would be on the chest of the shadow.

I haven't bought a movie poster since college, but I'd absolutely buy that one.

Guitar / rock theme?

Possible candidates:

Long shot

Extreme long shot

If I had to guess, after the snippet of Murphy's score we've heard so far, maybe when it kicks into high gear it goes into somewhat of an '80s-esque guitar rock version of Williams' score, a la the Top Gun Anthem...

Either way, this is now the second time we've heard "rock" or "punk" associated with this movie. Which makes me think back to the set pics where the extras had on a mixture of modern and '70s-looking attire. So maybe there's either a subtle or distinct late'70s/early '80s punk rock vibe of sorts going on with the current crop of superheroes, and also in society itself, against which Superman stand out as more of a clean-cut Boy Scout-type.

If we're going 80s-rock, there is only one option.

Man, the Snyder bros truly are some of the most psychotic movie fans I've ever encountered. A few days ago, out of morbid curiosity, I clicked on a couple random tweets of theirs served to me in my "For You" feed, and now I'm being inundated with their endless insanity. It's just a seething, irrational hatred for James Gunn and this movie, ****ting all over the use of the Williams score, hijacking the new movie's hashtags, misdirecting people to the MoS teaser, treating Henry Cavill like some kind of slain god/martyr, accusing Gunn of the most heinous nonsense, creating A.I. imagery of him shaking hands with Hitler... the list goes on and on. Snyder and the DCEU is these people's entire identity, they see Gunn as having kicked Snyder to the curb, and it's legit one of the weirdest, most pathetic things I've ever seen. And there's seemingly, like, hundreds of them. I truly do not understand what leads people down these paths and how they can be functioning human beings in the real world.

Well whatever all of that is, I am glad for their insanity in getting us Zach Snyder's Justice League, which put the abortion that was the theatrical release to the ash heap of history.

They're all over the FB fan pages too. When 90% of the comments are bashing the new movie and saying Henry Cavill was the ultimate Superman is delusional at best. I liked Henry, but I felt his performance in MoS was a bit "stiff" and lacked some level of emotion at times. Reeve is "my" Superman (as I assume is the case for most on this thread), but I'm hopeful David C and James G can revitalize my childhood hero and make him relevant for my 10 year old who doesn't care about the character at the moment.

The Synder fandom is just… bizarre. The man has some cool visuals and there's parts of Man of Steel I like, but they are almost cult-like in their attitude. I don't even get the sense that most of them are actual Superman fans.

It's definitely weird to see a fan base go insane when someone comes in that they feel is ruining the version that they like best. They feel like nothing is off limits and they can basically turn the new person into evil incarnate and the worst thing to happen ever. They will continually refuse to acknowledge the person's worthwhile contributions and repeatedly make the same negative comments over and over again, even years after the films they are critical of have come and gone. By the end, they attribute everything wrong with a franchise to one person and get physically repulsed when they see or hear their name.

Fortunately F13 on TexAgs would never do something so immature and caustic.
