Gunn produced a take on this concept too, Brightburn was written by his brothers (actually an interesting watch).
I never heard of that. Is it about Superman? A quick google seems to say no.
It's the movie you are looking for, based on your posts.

This thread could use a little Brightburn cleansing in certain areas.

Brightburn sucked. It could have been way better. And my friend made the mask.

This movie went from basically zero awareness among general audiences 48 hours ago to one of the most buzzed about movies I've seen in a long while, at least on social media. The below is only one example, but when someone like Josh Pate is retweeting a theater-cam still of Hoult as Luther, you know it's reached another level (and yes, I realize it's because they're both bald). Based on the enthusiasm I'm seeing, along with the nostalgia factor, echoing a tweet I posted earlier, IF this movie is good it MIGHT very well have the potential to reach Top Gun: Maverick levels…

This makes it sound like there was a hit movie called COVID, but the point remains…

Good Lord, dude, just stop.

Every single cinematic iteration has addressed this as well.

Superman is good because he was raised by the ultimate, salt-of-the-earth do-gooders, Ma and Pa Kent. This is Superman 101 and has been inherent to the character since his inception.

Otherwise, just go watch Smallville. Because there will never be Superman movie without Superman. That would be a ridiculously stupid business decision.
I'm not going to stop because you tell me to. In fact, you saying that make me want to post more. You are not the board police. Stop trying to be.

And the "salt-of-the-earth-do-gooders" is not a sufficient answer. When superman is 1.5 years old and he throws the refrigerator through the ceiling because ma didn't let him have a cookie, then what? Ma sits him down for a little heart-to-heart? Yeah right. I think it's much more likely that superman turns out to be like the super power kid in Spielberg's Twilight Zone: A brat that nobody can stop. It would be cool if the movie explained how that didn't happened.

You're in the very small minority of people who would pay to see a movie centered just around his childhood. So you're asking for a 5 hour movie because that would be the only way to get that in depth about his childhood while also moving the plot and store line along in regards to what is happening now.

I think he might be one of the only people in America unfamiliar with Superman's origins and core principles.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure most Modern Age comics of Superman (1980's to now) have Superman's powers not develop until adolescence. So baby/toddler/tween Clark wasn't able to do those things.

JG has a chance to start something that could truly change comic book movies forever. The MCU did it just by starting an entire cinematic universe around comics but the burnout was real. If DC can pace this right it could go longer than phase 1 of the MCU

I can't find a big enough picture, but does anyone else see a person wearing white climbing on the outside of LexCorp in this shot in the trailer?

I ran it on my TV and there is definitely someone there, wearing grey not white. Looks like a woman or a very lithe man. Straight down from the first "R" in LuthorCorp at the 1:30 mark of the trailer.

I pulled it up to 300% and don't see what you're talking about.

It being Luthorcorp instead of Lexcorp is bothersome, homwever.

Someone is walking on the roof of the glass thing below the sign pretty obviously at the 1:30 mark of the trailer.

I see the person.

I'm going counter to the trend and I think this movie will disappoint. The more I reflect on the trailer the more I don't like it.

Apparently it was luthorcorp before it changed to lexcorp in some storylines due to an urge from Lex to separate from his fathers legacy.

And I cannot think of a superman origin story. Are you talking about the TV shows? Because I have never watched those. I wish they would do it in the movies.
Now you're just trolling. Seriously.

Superman: The Movie had his origin story.

Man of Steel had his origin story.

Those are movies.

I'm not talking about a few scenes when he was a teenager, I mean literally focusing an entire movie on his youth.

For example, a huge percentage of people who had God powers would NOT use it to selflessly defend others and fight crime. These movies don't come close to explaining how Superman chose the opposite path other than "he's a good guy".

Like have young Superman use his super strength to accidentally kill his best friend. Then avow to never hurt an innocent person again. Something different like that.

Superman is from Krypton, a species of being with perfected genetics. His birth parents were actually that good. Then he was found by some of the best people in the entire DCU and raised a farm boy who valued all life while understanding the value of hard work and sacrifice.

Superman is good because his genetics and upbringing virtually guaranteed he would be good. The idea of him ever choosing to be bad is anathema to his birth and adoptive parents.

Think about the normal person from a midwestern state who grew up on a farm. Do any of these people strike you as someone who would become a bad person? His birth parents were probably the greatest examples of Kryptonians his entire species had. His entire family was held up among a species of near godlike beings as an ideal to strive to.

Don't psychoanalyze jt, just accept he's a genuinely good person because he had fantastic advantages in all aspects of his life.

You bring up an interesting idea though…..think Clark Kent ever killed the poor girl when he lost his virginity?

There's your unique plot angle for a prequel young Clark Kent / FTaRH tie in….
I hate that I know this, but...

Author Larry Niven (a literal Grand Master of science fiction writing) wrote an essay on this topic in 1969 titled "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex".
