Is that a clip that didn't make it into last week's episode? Doesn't seem to really fit with where things were left at the end...

Ahsoka leads Republic clones to confront Maul's forces on Mandalore, while Maul senses the impending chaos and makes a calculated play to ensure his own survival in "The Phantom Apprentice," an all-new episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars this Friday, April 24th on Disney+.

Did you watch last week? Maul already confronted Ahsoka. The above clip could be a flashback, but it seems way out of place for a preview. Which is why I was asking.

Am I the only one that thinks the preview is odd?

It feels like a mistake, Ahsoka goes down that tunnel without seeing that clone or Maul. It looks more like a deleted scene than anything. And Maul being inside the clone's brain suggests he knows Order 66 is coming. But what reason would he have to go in the clone's brain in the first place other than to know which jedi was there since he said he was expecting obi-wan? I definitely do not understand.

There's a chance that the clip is from further in the future. Maybe this week's episode opens with the clones rescuing Ahsoka and Driving off Maul, and that's what she finds when she tries catching up with him.
Thanks and gig'em

I had the same reaction, so I went back and rewatched the most recent episode... and was even more confused by the preview afterwards.

Really great episode, although I gotta slow your roll at the best lightsaber fight ever.

It's way up there, I'd say top three, IMO. Maul's in all of my now updated top three favorites, actually. Favorites, not necessarily "best":

1) Maul vs. Qui-Gon / Obi-Wan (TPM)
2) Maul vs. Obi-Wan (Rebels)
3) Maul vs. Ahsoka (TCW)

What a fantastic episode! :-)

I felt like i was watching an alternate reality of star wars and i loved it, especially since i just watched ROTS with my girls last weekend. Suddenly all the dialogue about ahsoka not being in the republic chain of command rings huge for whats coming. And maul knows everything thats coming, that is so cool. Really curious to see what choice ahsoka makes to disappear. One of my biggest problems with her in rebels is that she knows bail organa, who knows yoda and obiwan are alive. Surely those 3 jedi plus kanan and ezra could have launched an atack pn vader and palps to some degree of success

Whenever discussing these kinds of ideas, it's good to remember that when Obi-Wan and Yoda were in hiding, these other characters didn't exist

Am I correct that this episode re-canonized Xixor?

Timing worked out that I watched the last two episodes of Rebels season two right before this latest Clone Wars episode. If you haven't caught the Rebels two-parter in a while, go back and watch it.

Yes Xizor was in the house! I watched the episode at 345 a.m. and only got 3 hours of sleep so I keep remembering details I've forgotten. Should have had alien sloots draped all over him.

catching up. Didn't realize how emotional I would be when the clones met Ahsoka again and painted their helmets like her skin tone and Anakin giving her back her sabers.

The last two episodes 9 and 10 have to be up there for some of the best in Star Wars period

agreed. Which is why I am still really head scratching on the first eight. The Clone rejects episodes were ok but didn't really add anything to the canon. Nothing actually. The episodes with the sisters accomplished nothing other than bringing back Ahsoka and were pretty lame IMO. Just feels like another case of Disney/Lucasfilm "what might have been". They bring this series back for one final season and most of it is just worthless filler.

I am figuring the sisters will tie into Ahsoka's escape from Order 66, and who knows the bad batch might show up as well to help. That is the only justification I can come up with for the first 8 episodes.

The 4 part siege was pre-written and conceputalized before the series was cancelled. But you can't have a 4-episode season.

the first few resolve part of the clone arc and also give strength to the clones not being all slaves to order 66.
The part with the sisters was weaker, but you needed to see Ahsoka post-Temple. She's trying to sort out what to do with her life, and she needed to attract the attention of the Mandos to have a reason to get to the Maul conflict.

Kinda reminds me of people griping about the episodes of Mando where he goes to that village with Cara Dune, then to Tatooine, etc. Everything came into play at the end. And let's not forget Ahsoka herself was at least as annoying as the two sisters when she first appeared in Clone Wars.

i am going to guess bad batch missed the Order 66 in their protocol and come full circle in the last episode and come to the rescue?

As of right now we know Rex, Wolf and Gregor make it but have we seen wolf and gregor with Rex so far? I cant really recall.

I was late on watching the most recent episode and caught it last night.
Wow. these past two episodes have been great. So great. I wish everyone could watch these so they could truly understand the Skywalker Chronicles overall. This show really gives depth to the characters. It tells you why Anakin was a force to be reckoned with, why Kenobi was awesome, who Ahsoka is and why she is so important. It also gives a personality to the clones (which the movie never did).

But Ahsoka went completely bad-a in these two episodes. She went into Anakin mode jumping from ship to ship to race to the ground. And as discussed above, which I came here to say, in that this lightsaber duel is one of my favorite three. It sounds like everyone agrees in the same three. My order would depend on the time of day. They all hold something unique. The blades in the Maul vs Ahsoka fight were awesome.

I'm guessing Asoka shows up in the Obi-wan series as well. The two of them seem to be growing closer together. And having her show up in the Obi-wan show, the Mandalorian, Rebels and Clone Wars would tie all these different series together.

My guess is Echo figures out Order 66 and warns Rex, and a few others.

Personally I would love to see the clone rejects show back up during Order 66. Wonder if they have the chip because of their defects.

I watched the last 2 episodes of the show back in December during a SW marathon, so I'll consider myself at least semi-prepped.

Gonna catch up on this last season and watch the finale on SW day. I've heard such great things and would like to watch the finale along with everyone else.

(May go back and watch the rest of the series at some point. Doing it prequel style )
