The season 4 explanation is easy enough. Hopper either leapt into or was sucked into the upside down during the explosion.

The Russians opened another gate in Kamchatka, where they let out their worst nightmare. That, and a demogorgon.

Loved the season but should prob wrap it up next season.

I agree. By the mid-80s most boys were wearing their hair a little shorter and more styled and not so late 70s looking. I've got the yearbooks to prove it.

Agree as well on the shorts. I distinctly remember those kind of shorts in the late 70s cause I was in my preteen years. They did a little better on the girls styling them they have the boys, but even a lot of the girls had more feathered bangs and style to their hair and both girls have no bangs which really wasn't as popular in the mid-80s.

I'm not saying no one had it like that but a lot of people wore their hair very feathered or permed. I know I was a girl then with very styled or permed hair! I don't know if they're trying to make the boys look a little younger or what.

Agree. But both are super hot.

I thought it was much better than season 2, but not as good as season 1. Overall pretty awesome

Maybe I'm in the minority, but season 1 was fantastic, season 2, was good, and this season was okay. I think theres no more mystery to the mind flayer and demagourges and the suspense effect is wearing off on me (even though one poster above hit the nail on the head that it hasn't really been revealed if there is something ultimately pulling the strings or is it just a bunch of demons and monsters out to hurt people). Also, with the exception of the keys keeping the gate open, it seemed they mostly abandoned the storyline of the upside down and how the characters interact with it. And I like Mike less and less as the series plays out. He's a complete ******* and I had to close my eyes anytime he was making out with Ele; so freaking uncomfortable.

Put me the "this season was great' camp.

It was definitely "funner" than Season 2, but also the cheesiest of the three, but in a good way...I think. This season felt more like an 80s movie because it was cheesy, but it was also more violent. So I guess I'm just saying it was a good mix that had something for everyone.

Exactly this. The plot in and of itself is a nod to cheesy 80's B movies imo. Russians building a massive nuclear reactor plant under a mall in Indiana etc. That really has some feathers ruffles on the other thread but I love it, it's ridiculous and over the top by design, but funny.

At this point New Wave has come and gone. The boys would have a little bit more style to their haircut

I see what people are saying, but they're nerds/dorks. We had nerds with mop top haircuts and outdated clothing at school in the 90's. They don't seem to care about fashion or fitting in.

Modernize them a bit for season 4, but if they try to make them look cool/stylish for the exact year it might be silly. They'd have to nail it.

The girls too...they're very plain Jane and not too wrapped up in trying to look pretty and trendy. Thought I saw quite a few perms and big bangs haircuts throughout the show but ultimately I don't get bothered by such little thingsz

I guess my only point was that they looked like a lot of nerds prob did back in the mid 80's. Dorky mop tops and short shorts, several years out of style etc. I am wondering if maybe that was intentional? The more popular people def had a more modernized cutting edge look. Nancy Wheeler and the popular girls in the mall whose coke exploded. I definitely agree that if the next season is set in 87 or something and the kids are still rocking the same gear and hair do's it will be a bit much.

The kids are getting old. I hope they don't make us wait another 18 months this time.
