Plus, we didn't really spend that much time with Saul behind the scenes away from Walt and co. The few times were when he was scrambling because he thought he needed to get out.
This was Saul's first real life or death experience with the cartel. He was scared ****less. Any time someone in breaking bad even mentions the cartel or someone coming across the border, Saul freaks the **** out.

We haven't even heard "I need a new dust filter for my Hoover Max Extract Pressure Pro model 60" in the current timeline of BCS. It was only referenced in post BB when Jimmy was made at the mall. Somewhere along the way Jimmy has to make the initial connection with Ed Galbraith, and if they show this, I hope they already have the footage before Robert Forster died.
So what happened to the truck mike drove into the desert? I don't think it got shot so why not walk back to that and drive away?

It clearly showed Mike heading toward that truck when he noticed it was leaking gas. that's why he went to Saul's car instead.

It would be pretty easy to shoot without him. Phone call (impersonation). Drop off spot with Kim. Maroon minivan. You'd never have to see him.
Could even just do the call only hearing Saul speak.
Did some calculating.....
$1million in $100 bills weighs 17 pounds.
So $7 million weighs 119 pounds plus at least 5-6 pounds for the bags. So 125+ pounds Saul is hauling.
I don't think he could walk as far as they have lugging that.
Soldiers routinely carry 50 pound bags and at times 80 or more, but not usually over 100 pounds for any distance.......and they train for it and have it in something easier to carry (backpack).
Oh well..... just a thought.
I think Gilligan said they calculated it at 75 pounds per bag.

I believe they shot his scenes for el Camino while doing BCS. So I believe they do. I could be mis-remembering though.
Finally caught up for the first time in 5 episodes (Thanks COVID-19...). What an absolutely incredible and beautiful episode. Hands down one of the best in the series.

Rewatching the entire Entourage series and didn't remember Bob Odenkirk being on the show as Mark Cuban's business partner Ken Austin.
So I just got around to watching it.
1. The guys were working rogue within the Salamanca organization. If Lalo wanted Saul dead, the cousins coulda done it easy.
2. The GPS tracker was in the gas cap - Mike's old trick.
3. How did Mike win a gun battle all by himself against a whole gang of cartel guys? How did he get to a vantage spot to fight so quickly? There are no parallel roads out there? Big plot hole to me.
4. I think Mike wanted the truck to stop, but when it was apparent he was just gonna run Saul over he had to blow him away.
5. I still do NOT understand why Fring wanted Lalo caught and then he wanted him to make bail. I guess he's trying to destroy the Salamanca organization?

Didn't he say in a previous episode he needed to hit Lalo south of the border to avoid blame?

So I took a shot at the drug cartel organization as it's developed in BCS. I've ignored Fring's organization from BB unless they have appeared in BCS.
I would appreciate y'alls thoughts on this. I figured The Cousins were direct reports to the boss. I also did not know where to Gaff (a member of the organization who appeared a few times).

I would think Lalo and the cousins would go under Hector as he was the head of the Salamanca family.
He had the high ground and there was almost no way they knew exactly where the shots were coming from, he was a former sniper, the only thing that was the real bothersome point was Mike predicting exactly where the rogues were going to pin Saul down as you pointed out.wbt5845 said:

Another try at the criminal organization. It seems drug cartels have a fairly fluid structure. I left off people who are just briefly shown, such as the other don's at the top who only appear once to die from Fring's poisoned tequila.
