Kim is one of my favorite characters in the BB universe.
There's so much going on with her and it's rarely at the surface. And when it does come up it's perfectly stated...the simple look tonight when she decided to go after Kevin, the diatribe against Barry Corbin, the one tonight against her boss...she is shown to be way smarter and more cunning when those speeches flashes come up. Just really well written.

I was trying to remember if that was him. Is Kim just bored is that why she's going down this path? Just trying to make her job a more exciting? Seeing if I miss anything because she's keeps going down and down a narrow path.

That's kind of what I was getting to.
She truly has a heart, but she also has some Jimmy in her (no pun intended), which is why they get along. She was willing to bend the rules to do the right thing, Jimmy just bends the rules to win. But they both enjoy it on some level. The bowling balls in the last episode are the perfect light hearted example and what that scene was for in part. Jimmy talked her into doing something bad, and she enjoyed it.
And that speech at the end was the cunning in her, but also her self respect. Even if he was right, she didn't like to be accused of doing something wrong. It was part genuine and part her trying to protect her reputation.
Like I said, she's just really well written.

I think we were all expecting Saul and Kim to start drifting apart throughout the season. Their roll play scene was meant to show the opposite and that they're back on track I guess
