Wtf just happened?

I'm not sure whether to be blown away by that last line or to laugh at it, but damn sure didn't see it coming.

On one level it makes total sense, she thinks a real commitment will change him, on the other hand, again wtf?

Spouses can't testify against each other. Her mom didn't change she knows Jimmy won't either. She's got something in mind.

They can not arrest a husband and wife for the same crime.

You sure about that? If a husband and wife both shoot someone who then dies, how can you prove which one was the murderer and which one was an accessory?

You've been out in superficial Hollywood too long. I could see your point if they just met but they've known each other & been together for a long time. She's not going to dump him because she's better looking or she wouldn't have been with him in the first place. It's not like his face was mangled in a car accident. And it's clear that she's not comfortable with the Saul angle/persona Jimmy is going with.

You keep reducing what I'm saying to "better looking." Read what I wrote. It's way more than that.

Kim grew up in a broken home. Probably had no father. Grew up poor and as a "nobody". She's obviously met Jimmy during this period as she was into scamming people with him. Then they both get law degrees (and were undoubtedly "in it together"). She becomes more successful and his license gets suspended in part because his brother was screwing him over. Kim may have grown up in poor, but she's not a beotch. I would find it hard to believe she'd leave him because she's "better than him" after all they had been through together. Not until he screwed her over. Which he did last night.

And there are countless cases of women demanding a ring as an ultimatum. That's not far fetched at all.

I addressed that as well. She's not 100% comfortable with the Saul character in relation to her career but she's not ready to walk away from him.

I agree on Howard. Unless his character has any significance in future episodes/seasons, I don't see the point.

Perhaps Saul's last two stunts were meant to close the door on that character, which would be refreshing. I couldn't stand the whole Howard/Chuck part of this show and glad that it's finally ending for good

Anyone catch the conversation Detective Roberts was having on the phone? Possum under the house? Jesse talked about his aunt thinking there was a possum under the house when she was sick with cancer in Breaking Bad. He was probably talking to a teenage Jesse.

Man, I have zero recollection of that and I've watched the series three times. That's awesome.

This may be the first and only time I will ever thank someone for quoting Stump. That was a very astute, interesting observation that I would've missed otherwise thanks to the ignore feature.

I think you meant to say they can't be made to testify against each other. They can absolutely be charged/arrested for the same crime.
We've circled back to the Kettlemans.

It seems like Little Kim getting back in the car despite knowing it was a bad choice would have been more fitting.

I think more likely he was speaking to Jesse's aunt, but either way that's an incredible Easter egg.

Also... any chance Kim is pregnant?

Little Kim not getting in the car was about control. She wanted to modify her mother's behavior by walking home.

If the above assertion is true, then perhaps Kim pov is to suggest marriage as a way to control Jimmy.

So Saul chose Nebraska, when he had the chance to go anywhere for his new life. Interesting to see how that plays out.

Maybe he is back in Omaha trying to keep an eye on Kim and their child and that's why he was so eager to get rid of the guys that recognized him in the mall, and then changed his mind about leaving again. And Kim has no idea he is there!!

One thing that stood out to me when Kims mom was driving away she yelled out "You Never Listen, Kim!"
I felt like the director was shoving that in our face to say, hey remember when her mom said this, it's a metaphor or a future warning about her and Jimmy.
I could be wrong but that was the vibe I got. Anyone smarter than me have any thoughts or response to that?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't see Saul having a kid.

If he had a kid with Kim that was off in Nebraska, I don't see him running the game like he did in Breaking Bad.

Again, I could be wrong, but it just wouldn't mesh right with the character for me.
Maybe he didn't know he had a kid and receives a threat towards Kim, and that's when he finds out. I know it doesn't fit in his BB exit but it's a fun hypothesis.

This was probably my least favorite episode of the series for me.

It's still my favorite show on television and probably has been throughout its entire run. But this episode was ridiculous and stretched credibility multiple times. Even the negotiations between jimmy and the bank were ridiculous and cheesey. This show is better than that.

Anyone catch the reference to "changes to Fannie and Freddie" early in the episode?

That would put the timeline at 2008 or after

Does that fit with the potential Jesse/possum thing?

I smile every time I see Nacho's AMC Javelin. I drove a '73 while in Aggieland in the late 70s. Same off-red color that AMC was using, but with a black vinyl roof. It did have a very nice engine. Wish I had not given that car to my brother now.

This was during the Pacer and Gremlin era.

I think Kim knows Jimmy can't change, but she also knows she can't help she feels about him.

I absolutely love BCS, but if this is the case, then they have done a really poor job of building and developing the relationship between the two of them.

It feels completely like a relationship of convenience for Kim to me. I think she feels sorry for him and has stuck up for him because she feels she's discredited as well and thinks that if Jimmy just had a break, he'd snap to the way she has.

I like to think Gilligan has intentionally left us in the dark as to what's going on with them but if she's marrying him solely because she cares too deeply for him, they haven't done a good job of making that case.

I also think she recognizes the genius in him, but it's unfortunately tied to his less desirable traits.

Definitely not smarter than you but I do have thoughts, so I guess I'm qualified to respond. When Kim's mom pulled away, I was honestly waiting to hear the sound of a fatal accident, thus validating Kim's decision to trust herself over anyone else, even people she cares about. As it relates to Saul, I thought she'd end it with him because, like her mom and drinking, she saw the self-destructive path he's going down and realized she could never change him. So, the best thing she can do for him to is to leave him alone and watch the inevitable from a safe distance.

...but then she ended the episode by suggesting they get married, so what do I know?
Know Your Enemy
How long do you want to ignore this user?
So the marriage is just to protect her from having to testify against him if something comes up. Maybe some of you will unclench now.
