It is one of the best trailers I have ever seen. Totally captures the dark aspect of Batman. My wife, who I thought would love this, actually said that it was "too dark" for her. Too gritty. I totally disagree with that. But she hasn't read some of the classic Batman story lines. That upside down scene at the end from the Penguin"s perspective with that music was awesome. Gave me chills....Hope the actual movie is that good.TCTTS said:
Btw, the theater tonight went absolutely ape sh*t for the latest trailer, which played before Dune. The second the opening shot of the diner came up, half the crowd already knew exactly what it was and started cheering. Then, at the end, as the title formed over the upside down shot of Batman walking toward the camera, the place just erupted. It was crazy. And so fun.
Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne doesn’t seem like he’ll be having a good time in #TheBatman. https://t.co/xUBojHbRkl

For what its worth, based on the quote Reeves gave in the lead up to the trailer today, they're going for a Bruce Wayne as "a recluse rock star in a decaying Wayne Manor" kind of thing. So, through that lens, the Trent Reznor/dark-haired Kurt Cobain vibe feels very intentional (and gives the score a bit more meaning/intentionality too).

Here's a quote from Reeves in Empire Magazine set to come out next week:
"When I write, I listen to music, and as I was writing the first act, I put on Nirvana's 'Something In The Way',"
"That's when it came to me that, rather than make Bruce Wayne the playboy version we've seen before, there's another version who had gone through a great tragedy and become a recluse. So I started making this connection to Gus Van Sant's Last Days, and the idea of this fictionalised version of Kurt Cobain being in this kind of decaying manor."
The ideal actor for the job? Pattinson, whose astonishing performance in the Safdie Brothers' Good Time had caught Reeves' attention. "In that movie you could really feel his vulnerability and desperation, but you could also feel his power," the director explains. "I thought that was a great mix. He's also got that Kurt Cobain thing, where he looks like a rock star, but you also feel like he could be a recluse."

Barry Keoghan's brother is either trolling or accidentally spoiled the Joker reveal in #TheBatman 🃏 pic.twitter.com/ezc2HNnid2

Sometimes it's hard to stick to your NDA when you know something super awesome.TCTTS said:
Yeah, saw that. Something about it just feels off, though. For one, that news was never "out," as he's the one who essentially fanned the flames of the rumor, if not outright started it. That, and it would just be unbelievably reckless, to the point of likely being in breach of contract. These actors aren't just told to keep quite, they're contractually obligated to. So not only telling his brother, but his brother then just babbling about it on social media, feels so ridiculously careless, and doesn't add up to me at all.

I have heard that rumor as well although it seems to stem solely from the internet learning Keoghan is in the movie and thinking it's suspicious he has been kind of hidden.
I do agree at this point he seems like too big an actor to be absent from the promos and just a mid-level role. And he definitely has a villainous "it factor". It certainly makes you raise your eyebrows.
