I know it was probably answered somewhere in this almost 40 page thread, but is this movie part of the DCU? Is it supposed to be happening in the past? Some of it looks older but the flat screens in the Batcave make me think it's either a generic time frame or modern.

Trailer looks great!

The only thing I hate more than tweets that are pictures of text are the "1/150" tweet threads.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are damn near flawless. But, IMO, The Dark Knight Rises is the blemish that opens up the *possibility* that this iteration could potentially overtake the Nolan trilogy one day. Granted, I recently rewatched TDKR, and it's better on the fifth or so go around, as its flaws can be more easily forgiven all these years later, but it definitely tainted the sheen of Nolan's efforts a bit. I don't know that anything will ever top TDK, or Ledger's performance, but as a whole, the Reeves films at least have a shot at overcoming the Nolan films, if only because of TKDR.

Can you expand on your issues with DKR? I KNOW I'm in the minority, but that was my favorite of the Nolan trilogy.
worst death scene:

Begins is awesome (elevated by Neeson). My favorite Batman origin by far. Probably my favorite Batman portrayal as well (Bale did a disguised voice in this one. Not throat cancer).

Dark Knight will always have place on the all time list because of Ledger. Timeless performance and truly scary.

TDKR was crazy hyped and once again the villain was amazing. Don't know if we'll ever get a better Bane. But the plot was weak, way too many conveniences. Reduced Batman to a lovesick idiot that banished Alfred and gave his company away to a one night stand. The Robin thing was forced as well. Not a bad movie but nowhere near as good as the other 2.
Clearly been a while since I've seen this. I do not recall a Robin thing??

That's obviously a change in look for Gordon, but the actor still looks like Gordon, if that makes sense.

Would possibly mean they'd do something different if Batgirl is ever introduced.

If it's not one of the names below, it'll almost assuredly have to be a relative unknown, as this is just about every "name" actor I could find who I think could be a candidate (though some of these are far more realistic/capable/appropriate than others). That said, I'm sure there are plenty of on-the-cusp actors I've missed (let me know if so), and it's a little hard to narrow down regardless, because we have no idea if "younger" means mid-to-late-20s or "younger" simply means younger than Affleck , who's 46.

Either way, here's how I've broken down the potential candidates, and will add any notable names you guys come top with...

REALISTIC / 20s:
Joe Alwyn (27)
Ansel Egort (24)
Alden Ehrenreich (29)
Liam Hemsworth (29)
Nicholas Hoult (29)
Jack Reynor (27)
Aaron Taylor-Johnson (28)

REALISTIC / 30s:
Christopher Abbott (32)
Penn Badgley (32)
Ben Barnes (37)
Charlie Cox (36)
Jamie Dornan (36)
Scott Eastwood (32)
Zac Efron (31)
Jake Gyllenhaal (38)
Armie Hammer (32)
Kitt Harrington (32)
Garrett Hedlund (34)
Jack Huston (36)
Oscar Isaac (39)
Joel Kinnaman (39)
Shia LaBeouf (32)
Richard Madden (32)
Glen Powell (30)
Sebastian Stan (36)
Dan Stevens (36)
Miles Teller (31)

PROBABLY TOO OLD:
Jason Clarke (49)
Joel Edgerton (44)
Michael Fassbender (41)
Jon Hamm (47)
Gabriel Macht (47)
James Marsden (45)
Karl Urban (46)

PROBABLY TOO FAMOUS / NOT REALISTIC:
Bradley Cooper (44)
Ryan Gosling (38)
Chris Pine (38)

Who do we like?

Who do we think it'll be?
Interesting to not see Rob Pat on this list. Can anyone think of anyone from this list that they think could pull off this iteration of Batman?

Does anyone else geek out over Gotham City maps?

The details have varied over the years but the basics of Gotham seem to have coalesced around the following concepts since The Dark Knight.

Super high-res map on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Maps/comments/3wsuwp/gotham_city/

And though it is only semi-canon, Gotham City is likely off the coast of southern New Jersey.
