Was just coming here to post this. Weird that we literally saw them filming a couple weeks ago, but that today is "day one." Maybe that was just some quick preliminary stuff and now it's straight through 'til the end?

It might have been mostly second unit stuff, which usually doesn't require the primary cast. It's more just random shots and certain action bits. But the set was definitely dressed with vehicles and props and what not, which they wouldn't do for just a rehearsal.

I don't mind the Wayne's death being reshown.

I've never understood, why people get annoyed or worked up over it.
As a director/writer, you don't get your one shot to form a Batman film/franshise, and say, "I shouldn't show the most pivotal catalyst to Bruce becoming Batman because it's been shown before."

not that I get bent out of shape about it but I just don't think it's necessary at this point unless it's going to move the story.
It was necessary in Batman (89) because it turns out it was the joker.
it was necessary in Batman Begins because Bruce was willing to kill the thug himself showing how low he had gotten with his anger.

Other than that, if it's just shown to show why Bruce decided to be Batman, we get that and it's been well established.

It's just been done so many times. At least find a new way to do it.
Lego Batman got more out of Batman staring at a photo than all the slow motion gun fire and pearl necklace dropping of every other movie.

The director has made a comment that we won't see it in his movie. They might reference it (there's a funeral scene in the movie), but not actually show it.

I'm going to pitch a show to Netflix. The premise is that we get 10 directors each season to depict their own vision, style, or twist on the Wayne family getting murdered. It's called The Wayne Manners.

that last shot looks similar to charlie cox's daredevil. i mean that in a good way too.

i think it'd be awesome to keep showing it in that type of a light, then in the first trailer, reveal that it's actually an updated blue/gray color scheme.

Fits with the look of the costume for sure. Very tactical, very homemade, very early design. Love it. I bet this means we get an updated costume by movie's end, though.

Good way to put it. "'70s detective thriller" fits with the whole Chinatown-as-inspiration vibe. The costume goes right along with that as well...
