Damn it, he actually does wear the mask well. I've long since moved past thinking of him as the Twilight guy - he's become a genuinely great actor - but having him in THIS role would definitely take some getting used to. Still, I think he could potentially pull it off, with a bit of bulking up.
I'm actually on board. I know most people only know him because of Twilight and are gonna hate the thought of him as Bruce for that... but he's honestly a pretty damn good actor. He's 32, 6'1", and can definitely pull off both conflicted/angsty and charming. He could easily bulk up plenty.

A friend and I once walked next to him for about four blocks, all of us heading to the same Kings of Leon concert (this was like a decade ago, a few weeks before the first Twilight movie hit). I'm 5'10", and there's no way he was three inches taller than me. I actually thought he was my height or maybe even shorter. Still, even in the last few minutes, I've warmed up to the idea of him in the role more and more. He could be legit.

I'm on board with Pattinson, but I don't know if he would be down. Twilight seemed to crush both his and Kristen Stewart's spirits. They've gone on to prove that they are both very talented performers. Holding them to just their Twilight performances is unfair.

This. That guy has talent, I believe he could pull it off. I was really impressed with him in that movie. Just because he was in Twilight doesn't mean he can't play something like Batman.Drifter. said:

Gyllenhall will be 39. Pattinson will be 33.
Most of the reason for the "rumors" is because Boss Logic posted an edit of RP as Batman on Instagram and Twitter. It's an account that posts a lot of edits of various actors in various roles.
What rumors are you referring to? I don't think anyone here is under the illusion that Pattison is officially in contention, nor is any other name. The Gyllenhaal rumors might have had some traction months back, but who knows how legit all that was. In other words, we're all just having fun speculating here.
I've seen articles saying that he's being considered, only to credit that one guy as their source.

Yea with Pattinson, or any actor who actually has height, don't worry if they are currently buff or not.

I don't know how big he is but Garrett Hedlund would be worth a look. The most recent film I've seen him in was Mudbound on Netflix and I was really impressed by him in that. He's been a supporting actor in just about everything I've seen other than Tron Legacy but that movie is almost a decade old at this point.

Though I mentioned Hammer as my top realistic choice a couple weeks back, and would love for this to be true, Revenge of the Fans is yet another one of these low-rent movie blogs with not a scoop to their name. I wasn't seeing anyone else pick this up, and then the end-all be-all of authorities weighed in below and put this to rest. Of course, this doesn't mean that Hammer won't ultimately be Batman, it's just that this particular report isn't true at this time...
Between Star Wars and now this, because this is like the third time this has happened this week with bogus reports and these fanboy movie blogs, from now on I would say ONLY believe...

Yeah, that's why I started with the clarifier of not being sure how trustworthy that site is. I just felt it was newsworthy.
