Whoops didn't realize season finale was next week. I'm predicting Saul is going to be in place by end of season 2.

And that is why you wade through mediocre episodes sometimes with Gilligan, because when he gets it right it's so good.
Watching Mike become Mike, Saul suffer that crushing disappointment from his idol in his brother. And then when you find out what Kim must have known and why she was so conflicted in talking to Jimmy...just great tv.

By the way, the parking garage they were in reminded me of the one where Walt wanted to off Fring?

I hated Fly the first time through, but went ahead and watched it during a second or third watch of the series. Not so bad.

Had I been a week to week watcher of BB, I would have thrown my TV to the ground in frustration.

Concur. Haven't seen a mediocre episode yet.

Fly was amazing too, IMO.

Great episode, show is getting better and better. Since its the finale next, what do we expect the cliffhanger to be? Do we get a random BB cameo as we did in episode 1? I kind of think that we do...

Gilligan fanboyness is strong here. Fly episode was stupid. Some people are afraid to call it like it is.

No, she was upset, told jimmy to take the deal, he flipped out on her and she left.

Well now we know why Chuck is never seen in BB. Kim probably screws him over next and he goes scorched earth on her and HHM with the help of Mike.

The crazy thing is, about Gilligan turning Chuck into the bad guy is, it actually not only absolves Hamelin, it makes him potentially a pretty good guy.

Think about what he's had to do all these years. He's basically had to take the bullet for Chuck, not wanting to tell Jimmy he couldn't be a lawyer at the firm himself. So he's had to make it out like he's the one blocking Jimmy, when it was Chuck all along. Now possibly, Hamelin had similar reservations about Jimmy, BUT my theory is that he went along with it as a favor to Chuck, and possibly because he didn't want to see two brothers fighting each other. It's possible Hamelin has been acting like a total ****** to Jimmy all these years, but he's been doing so for his own best interests!

Last night's episode and Mike's backstory were easily the two best so far. If they keep firing on all cylinder like they have been doing this is going to be an excellent series.

If Hamlin was a decent guy, he wouldn't have treated Kim like crap in the office meeting and when she "lost" the coocoo Kettleman case. Guy is a bag, just like chuck.

maybe it comes back to them in a big way....

without jimmy to help chuck may completely lose it...which could in turn destroy HHM. it looks like he is getting better but who knows. they have given indications HHM would go under without him or if they had to buy him out. maybe he decides to leave finally.

that would be justice. wouldn't mind that.

Kim lost a big case, and Hamlin is the President of the firm. Of course he has to be a ****. As for the office meeting, he had to be a dick to Jimmy to make it look like Chuck was the good guy. When Kim confronted him, he was pissed because it was obvious through the company meeting on the retirement home case, Hamlin was very uncomfortable about his position as bad cop. it was written all over his face. Hamlin has been playing that role for a long time with Jimmy because of Chuck and I think this last case finally got to his breaking point. I don't think Hamlin has the same feelings about Jimmy as Chuck because well, Jimmy has now given HHM two massive cases. As a businessman, he sees that value that Jimmy could bring to HHM, but had to side with Chuck since they are partners.

Seems like Hamlin has played the bad cop for a long time and not just in Jimmy's case. The firm loves chuck and he's a genius. Even in the flashback to Jimmy's celebrating in the mail room after he passed the bar, him and the other guy didn't like Hamlin.

It's easy to fault Chuck, but he is reacting like many would.

He has busted his ass. Meanwhile, his little brother becomes an online lawyer and now wants near equal billing? In many ways, it invalidates him doing all those things the right way. I am not saying he handled it well. The right answer would have been to give Jimmy a special role and coach him into a more polished HHM role, and he seems willing to learn and work. But Chuck is obviously struggling because he took the long hard path. And Jimmy met him 30 years later and caught up.

He's a LAWYER. Goes without saying he's a bag.
