And remember, he is working in ABQ, not NYC, San Fran, Chicago, etc., so even being a partner in a respected law firm doesn't necessarily translate into riches. He would probably make a steady, comfortable living, but making serious coin there may require dabbling outside of the confines of the respected legal establishment.

And he's got a nice contact in the underworld and a "partner" who knows how to get things done. It's a good start toward becoming the go-to "criminal lawyer" in ABQ.

I'm assuming he was painting with a broader brush than just that exact scenario.
I'm not saying that exact scenario. I'm saying a similar one where he would be able to steal that kind of money without fear of some gang or cartel coming after him even if he left the country.

I mean, just because you are a shady lawyer doesn't mean you will come across situations like that to steal or con people out of large sums of money and get away with it.

He doesn't have to steal money...he's just going to let go of "doing the right thing". That was the point of his comment.

So how old would he be? Like 13-14? Not sure how they could pull that off unless they jumped ahead in the timeline. Very well could be the case since Gilligan mentioned that.

Jessie was 27 in the show.

Could he pull off a 17 year old? I don't know. Maybe. They always made those how I met your mother characters look 10 years younger easily in flashbacks.

However, we have no idea how much BCS will jump around. It could be modern day Saul flashing back to the BB era.

ok even more doable...i thought it was 10 years for whatever reason....if jesse was 25+ at the start and it is 6 years earlier then he has to look 19....a freshly shaved boyish face and less gruff voice would make that very possible.
