He kinda did. He said you want a shady attorney if you've done shady stuff. He had heard of him at least.

The guy advertised everywhere like Jim Adler. That doesn't explain how Jesse knew Tuco, though.

It was Jessie's idea to go to Saul when badger gets arrested.

Because he'd seen the advertising and he was a simpleton.

anyone equate the metal trash can outside the elevator to walt's paper towel dispenser?

You're probably right. I live in a small town. There's only one attorney I would call if I got into trouble with law enforcement. I'm sure it's coincidence.

Jessie was not a simpleton.

Just looked it up. Saul's first appearance was in the episode where Tuco was killed. I'm sure Jesse knew him from being in the same business of cooking meth.

So now we know how Jesse knows who Tuco is in season one. Saul.

Jesse didn't know Saul then.
Yeah, he tells Walt he needs a "criminal " lawyer.

Jesse was introduced to tuco through skinny p, when he got the absolute **** beat out of him. that made Walt blow up his office with the mercuric fulmite (?).

True, but Jesse knew OF him before Skinny P took him. Guess he could've just known of him from the drug trade and all that, but I figure it could've been through Saul as well. Maybe not.

And the owner of the laser tag place. Never actually saw him but Saul was horny about that place.

I don't think he knew Gus, did he? Wasn't Mike the one with the connect?

That being said, as much as I love BB and all those characters, I want there to be plenty of separation between the two shows. It could cause some problems if they just start shoehorning in cameos. Tonight was perfect.

Enjoyed it. The best part is that Episode 2 is tomorrow night.

I had to go back and rewatch the ending to figure out how the old Mexican lady ended up in the car.

Original car in the driveway was a Mercury Sable wagon with license plate starting with a 4.

Car that skateboarder crashes into was a Ford Taurus wagon with license plate starting with a 4.

Close enough for the "Napoleon" twins to get it wrong.

Great show!!!
The very first scene was referenced in the final season of BB when Walt asks Saul what's next - Saul replies "probably managing a Cinnabon somewhere"
Also loved the very Vince GIlligan - esque filming - loves Saul/Jimmy heading towards the Cadillac only to climb in the piece of
Crap next to it.

Omaha more specifically. and watching a VHS tape of his old Saul commercials was hillarious

then:

"Look at that car. the only way that piece of crap is worth $500 is if there's a $300 hooker in the back seat".

one of my favorite lines from the show and vintage Saul wordsmithing. likewise the closing argument in the case with the teenagers.

That court scene was hilarious. I loved how Saul made it sound like the were caught sneaking into a closed amusement park or something, and then the prosecutor just played the tape without speaking a word. It became clear why he had to rehearse in the bathroom. Quite a tall order there.

I haven't watched the episode yet as I worked last night. How is it so far? Seems like people are excited.

I think there's more to the rehearsing bit. I noticed he did it throughout the episode in a bunch of different situations.

I think they're just trying to drill home that he hasn't hit his stride yet as a conman lawyer. He hasn't quite perfected that gift of gab we saw in Breaking Bad.

Ag_07,

I agree. However, there are still flashes of the Saul we know.

Oh yeah. I thought this exact thing when he outed the skaters in the middle of the street. I thought 'There's the Saul I know!'

My point was just that the rehearsing bit wasn't because of the what was going on in the court hearing.

I love that we already know what's to come for Saul. We're just along for his rise and fall. I think it's intriguing since with Walt and Jessie we had no clue what the endpoint was for those two. This is completely different and I like it.

Does someone need to have seen Breaking Bad to understand and enjoy this show?
