Absolute disaster for McLaren today with a possibility to get worse depending on what they do to Lando for the start.
Good on Alpine. It will be interesting to see where they are at the end of the season.

Even if they give Norris a 10s penalty, he was just over 10s ahead of Yuki. If they hand out penalties to the 4 drivers that have been summoned. He shouldn't lose a spot.

Fines for Mercedes tire pressure…. Only problem I have is McLaren managed to adjust tire pressures in accordance with the rules.

I don't get why there's a rule about adjusting the pressure while the tires are on the cars, but ok.
This seems like a reasonable penalty based on the explanation in the letter for "breaking the rules". Especially since the pressures were within the guidelines.

I think they are opening the door up for problems with these "yes, but" rules interpretations. They should have USGA rules officials monitor the races. Those dudes don't miss anything.
Break before the final triple header. Vegas has been doing a lot of sales (Hamilton offer that was 44% off tickets for a specific grandstand, single days now available) but with Max potentially getting his 4th there maybe sales go up?
Absolutely hate the Vegas race starting at midnight central time. So ridiculous to have such a late start time when it gets dark and they can race under the lights six hours earlier.
Max from 17th to 1st with at best the 3rd fastest team car. Weather challenges, 20 plus percent of the field crashing during the race or in qualifying. Legend!

Based on the radio during the race, Merc probably did this to avoid being DSQ'ed for floor wear.
So tires that are not fitted on a car are not under parc ferme. But once they are on the car, parc ferme rules apply? That's dumb. Seems like they should either allow for pressure adjustments or not allow it.
Bernie Collins from Sky Sports (on the espn: Checkered Flag stream post race) clarified the tire pressure issue.
I guess its something like once the race tires are fitted, its considered back in parc ferme and the FIA stewards don't have to watch everything like a hawk. They showed video of Mercedes adjusting tire pressure and a steward recording the pressure.
Edit: she also said there are no penalties defined in the Technical Directive nor could she remember it ever coming up previously so probably why there were lenient with ruling. Some people where advocating for it to be a straight DSQ but as much as I am not a fan of Mercedes, that would have been extremely harsh.

Supposedly team radio told him to reverse and he turned straight into gravel. Don't know what he was thinking other than wanting to go home early.
Yeah I saw that. They very clearly told him to keep reversing and return to the pit lane. I'm guessing he would have been required to start from pit lane
