You guys are surprised by this??? Timing is to get the Andretti news buried, but this was openly discussed several times during the season. Lewis even said it would be a dream.

The only counter argument was an emotional argument that Lewis wouldn't leave Mercedes, (despite the fact he did this to Mclaren in their decline).

This meme from two days ago seems poignant now lol.

This makes silly season for 2025 even better. Feels bad for Sainz, dude just wanted to secure his future and is now without one lol... even Perez should be worried now.


Plus, we have rookies with legit chances at joining as well, today Haas announced Ollie as reserve driver for them and already listed the 6 FP1s he is doing this year.

Add in Kimi Antonelli with Mercedes and he could be seen on the grid next year too.

IMO, these two should not be wasted a year like Drugovich or Pourchaire. They're both better than Lawson too (I say this as a Lawson fan for years).

It was setup for a big shake up on the grid in 2025, but I did not expect this to be the news to start it off. Wow!

RB and Stake seem to be the two common paths for Sainz. Have seen Albon as the early name to replace Hamilton with MB.

Going to make for some fun moments this year with Lewis basically a lame duck. Wonder if this will be the end for Toto too. Mercedes need new blood.

IMO's Mick time in F1 is gone for a good 2-3 years. Antonelli's results under the same Mercedes Academy are miles better than Mick. Even Paul Aron (no longer with Mercedes since last winter) had better results than Mick in Italian F4 and Formula 3. He's the weakest on that WEC Alpine lineup too
