there was a note that Race control sent out 2 messages they veg was ending. Perez sped up at the first message. Then had to slow. So, he was slowing when the 2nd message came through.

Edit: kind of surprised it wasn't more severe than just a 5 second penalty on him. That could have been really bad

They were on mediums. Everyone else was on hards….
To clarify, not defending Ferrari. They were terrible. Especially in the late pit for sainz. The back and forth and lack of communication was lol bad. I mean telling your driver to pit as he's in the middle of passing Perez? Hell, even letting him get to that point and risking a crash and slowing him down vs just pitting before catching up the Perez.
Russell and Perez both acted ridiculous hoping for Race Control to do their passing for them

Russell as a Williams driver was fine, but he has definitely graduated with honors from Merc's school of d-baggery. No wonder he's Toto's pet project - those two seem a perfect fit.

What do you think Michael Schumacher would have told Mattia Binotto if he had been his team boss? Has a team principal ever been fired during the summer break?
Media was pretty much told no French GP next year. Seems like Monaco is still being negotiated but the Prince is now involved in that as well.

Funny you mention Ferrari cause I'm like 90% sure that's what happened in like 2014 or 2015. I can't remember the name but Maurizio Arrivabene replaced someone, not mid season but at like past the second half of the season. The guy's career as the team principal for Ferrari was short lived for sure.
Despite what people say I really liked Arrivabene. Sure, he also failed with Vettel on bringing the gold back to the Scuderia, but he was super likable on the press conferences and interviews. He also took an interest on italian Kimi Antonelli and wanted to sign him to the Ferrari Drivers Academy real bad, but back then they were against signing young drivers, so Antonelli signed with Mercedes. IMO, that might be one of the stupidest mistakes Ferrari has made over the last 10 years, as a lot of people fully believe that Antonelli will excel in F3 and hopefully F2, as he has been brilliant on the regionals F4 he has raced on and without a doubt the strongest Prema driver.
