Shuttle going ok?
Shuttle was pretty easy yesterday. I got downtown at 1:30 and left COTA at 7:30. No long lines and everything moved quickly. We will see how today goes with bigger crowds.
We took the shuttle from downtown yesterday. Waited in line for about 55 minutes to get our wristbands and get on the shuttle, and then the shuttle itself was about 40 minutes out to the track. No line coming back yesterday around 6:15, and again about 40 minutes travel time.
GA tomorrow, is it like the masters where people don't mess with your chairs so you can walk around or does one of us have to stay with our stuff?
Also how strict is the search of bags? Tempted to sneak in some sandwiches for my kid, eats like a horse.

Last year people didn't mess with chairs. But we also talked to the people around us and we would watch each other's stuff when gone.
I went with my son and my friend. We sat in GA at turn 11. Walked down to the turn 9 grandstand once. Took the trolly around the circuit one time to hit up other sections. But it was so damn hot, we didn't want to walk around too much.

COTA has made some major improvements from years past. There's tons of food, like 2 big tents with lots of grab and go options like BBQ sandwiches and hot dogs, and hearing the shuttles actually showed up. I parked at someone's backyard and made it home within 25 mins today. It does super suck to not have a legit feeder (F4 US or W Series) and they got rid of the signings but they had like interviews at the amphitheater. Merch prices are high, Silverstone had way better prices even after conversion.
Saw Sainz and Russell today and wished them luck. George is definitely one of the better gents on the grid (his girlfriend really friendly as well), he signed one of my magazines from 2021. Been a fan of him since his F3 days and definitely the better guy on his generation, hope one day Merc delivers him a good car.

My buddy and his wife are there for their first F1 experience and he told me they bought 2 hats for $200! $120 for his and $80 for hers. I don't remember prices being that high in the past.
Yet they still bought them?????
