3% doesnt come close to accounting for inflation.

But I bet there was a bunch of jockeying around behind the scenes on the final number.

They needed to increase the cap, so teams could operate. But the more they increase it, the more punitive it is to teams at the bottom of the table, and the bigger the benefit to the wealthier teams at the top.

3% is almost $4.5 million additional. Not chump change.

I may be wrong, but it sounds like inflation has impacted the cost of transportation more than anything. Fuel and freight. I'm sure raw materials used in production of parts have been impacted as well, but to a lesser extent.

Not a fan of Ham but cheering for a crash seems dirty. And yes I understand the English fans did the same thing last week to Max/RB. Just kinda slimy but that's our world.

Max didn't crash though. Cheering for performance issues of a rival driver/team when nobody's safety isn't in question is completely different.

But yes, cheering for wrecks, regardless of driver, is dirty... especially after the one we saw last week. Glad everyone is OK.

I read an article a couple weeks ago about it. Logistics is definitely a huge part of the increase, but they were also mentioning the increased cost in operations.

Either way, costs have gone up much more than 3%...but that's still a giant chunk of change for the teams (more so for the lower teams).

Ya'll are acting like this was a brutal crash where HAM and RUS safety was in question. You can cheer reliability and team issues, but not a driver mistake that was no harm no foul? A bit soft, this is entertainment. Both walked off easily. Crashes are a part of the sport. I would agree if safety was in question.

Why can F1 police all the other drivers during the race and remove their times for track limits and it takes 4 hours to look at Perez? Very odd even though he was indeed over the white line. Why not DQ that lap immediately.
