Man, Lewis was really hurting getting out of the car. I have back issues, but I can stop and get out or stop some Advil. I can't imagine having to drive a race with the porpoising issue and my back killing me.

Interesting measure that is needed but it seems RB will be loving this as they and Alpine are the ones that seems to play within the rules and not have huge porpoising issues.

I also understand it's a health concern, that needs to be addressed. But like you said...it is fixable, maybe at the expense of performance for most teams though.
As much as we've heard Toto bring it up recently, along with Hamilton complaining about it mid-race and getting out of his car so slowly, was there any doubt FIA was going to make changes?
I think it will greatly benefit both teams if everyone else is required to raise their ride heights. They won't lose performance.
It will be interesting to see what these required changes are and how they affect performance. Will the performance loss be linear/uniform across the teams? I'm betting it won't be linear for all teams.

I guess that is the question, will RB and Alpine have to raise their floors to comply with new regs? Because I believe that will have a huge impact on their cars as they are currently set up pretty well.

Yep. Almost like Mercedes let it ride knowing this would happen and Red Bull would basically be punished for it.

Sounds like they will make sure teams aren't pushing the limit of performance by accepting a certain amount of porpoising. That means teams that already have it figured out will retain their performance, while the ones that haven't will have to sacrifice performance because the amount of porpoising is what will be measured and limited.

Looks like the TD will require teams with too much porpoising to raise their ride height 10mm. This should benefit teams that already have it under control.
I think the rule will be that teams won't be allowed porpoising to a certain magnitude. So the will have to elminate/reduce it. For some teams all they will be able to do is raise the floor height which will lead to slower lap times.

Franz Tost confirmed Pierre Gasly stays in Alpha Tauri for 2023. Assuming Yuki will stay as well. Bad news for Lawson and Vips. I know it's too early in the F2 season still but unless they end up in the Top 5 I can see Lawson leaving to DTM and who knows about Vips. Maybe Hauger impresses next year and gets an AT seat.

This may seem obvious for y'all who have been following F1 for a while. For teams having to take a grid penalty for new power units, how much consideration is given to the circuit and being able to overtake? I'm guessing it plays a part. How much, who knows.
It matters. But if your engine goes kaboom you don't have a choice.
