Mercedes is still way off the pace from red bull. Perez passed Hamilton without DRS on the outside of a turn

Watching Sainz struggle I Would love to see Gasly paired with LeClerc at Ferrari. I thinks he's far and away the most under rated driver.

Also what's up with Aston Martin? They are trash, didn't see this coming at all

Larry Stroll is what's up with Aston Martin.

And I would like to see what Gasly could do in the Ferrari or the second Red Bull seat.

AM's former principle said "you can't have two popes" as the reason he left AM and went to Alpine.

Maybe now McLaren can actually start working on the real race car .

Carlos has had two podiums out of three races. Except for yesterday he's done exactly what Ferrari wants - be Leclerc's wingman

Yeah. I saw where Otmar said that just before the season started.

Yep. And if not for a questionable strategy call to start him on the hard compound tires, he probably works his way through the pack to a top 3 or 4 finish.

All in all that was one of the most boring of races. IMO Sergio Perez at this time is the better driver for Red Bull with this current car.

There was still some good midfield action. Last year had races that were way worse. Hungary comes to mind.

Curious how you're deciding Checo is better this season.

Max has him beat 2-1 in quali and was ahead of him this weekend before he retired. The only race they both finished Max won and Checo wasn't on the podium.

After last season, I don't necessarily think Ferrari came in this year with a clear number one.

If Sainz had the outstanding start Leclerc has had, he would be being prioritized. After this weekend though, we'll probably start seeing more wingman decisions made towards Sainz to protect Charles in the WDC.

It seems that Checo is handling this car better than Max at the moment

if Max's car doesn't blow up twice it would almost be impossible to make this argument

Yep, Otmar would be my go to team principal if I were starting a team. I guess Stroll's ego got the best of him. I get that some people can be successful in many different ventures, but running a F1 team is nothing like running clothing brands.

True, I think Checo is getting more out of the car than Max is though. Really just comes down to style and comfort. Max should be farther ahead of Checo on skill alone, but he has been struggling a bit.

Perez got a pole in the car. Not to mention Max got the 1st place only due to a wreck after Perez pit...

The fact that it's even a discussion shows how good RB is right now in their driver selection

I agree with this, only because Sergio is renowned for taking care of his car. It's pretty apparent the fuel pickup and hydraulics systems have a pretty big reliability issue for RB, and Sergio's driving style gives them a better chance in that regard. The moment the reliability improves, however, Max will take back that role.

To be fair, Sergio was controlling that race quite well and got screwed on the timing of the safety car.

I guess I signed up for a waiting list some time last year. Received an email today with opportunity to buy grandstand seats for Miami.

Everything went quick but picked up a pair @ Turn 18 for the weekend.

Who do you think has made the most improvements to their car over the last two weeks? Wouldn't be shocked if Mercedes had something waiting in the wings and close the gap between Red Bull and Ferrari

Merc has definitely improved.

I don't remember where I saw it but the article was spectaculating that RB's troubles will make it hard to make many changes going into the next race. Basicalky, they need to find a stable place before introducing more variables. The next few races should be interesting.

Just a heads up. This is a Sprint Qualifying event. So Quali is on Friday, Sprint on Saturday, Race on Sunday.

And there are points on the line for the sprint. Just imagine the riot if a Ferrari gets wrecked during the sprint because another team is fighting for a much needed point (Merc and Red Bull)

How many more season do you think we have of Lance Stroll and or Nicholas Latiffi. I know Lawrence owns AM, but somebody on the team as to go to him and say he needs to sell or get rid of his son as a driver. And Alex Albon is showing how worthless a driver that Latfiffi is.
numetalbizkitaggie

Latifi is likely gone after this year. He came to Williams prior to the sale because they needed his funding. With Dorilton Capital now, they can scout a bit more on talent.

Stroll is in until his dad gets tired of poor results. I get the sense that if this keeps going poorly for Aston Martin, he could sell by the end of next year. Aston Martin was bleeding money as a brand when Lawrence bought them.
