So long as the survival tub is still together, the car did it's job. The gearbox and rear can break off. The engine is still on the chassis.

New gear box and new engine. That was an expensive crash.
You can also bet that they will go over that tub with a fine toothed comb. Any deformity or crack and they'll have to replace it as well.

In Senna's case a piece of the front suspension pierced his helmet. In the last several generations of cars the drivers heads aren't as exposed as they were back in '94.
