Finally! I did appreciate the VER vs HAM battle last year down to the wire but it's good to see some parity this year.

My biggest surprises of Qualifying ranked:
1. Haas in Q3
2. Bottas sitting next to Hamilton on the start (LOL)
3a/3b. Ferrari kicking ass/McLaren looking like dog *****

Really thought McLaren were going to take it up a notch this year and hopefully compete with RB with Lando and Danny Ric.


Agree with all this except the McLaren scheandenfraud. I'd like to see them doing better.

I get it.

I like the drivers more than the car but have to admit I grew up dreaming of owning a Ferrari so That "clouds" my judgement.

Ferrari is more like the Steelers or Cowboys to me.

Maybe Norte dame or similar as well. There's plenty of skins on the wall to go with some of the attitude.

Kimi at Ferrari the first time is what I grew to love, after just knowing them as really good with MSC growing up

Just funny how opinions can be very different on the grand total of ten teams in F1, but McLaren has always been the "Sip-ish" team to me

Especially when Ron Dennis was running the show.

But I did enjoy watching Mika Hakkinen drive for them. He put in some of the best qualifying laps I ever saw, and his pass on Schumi at Spa in 2000 was legendary.

Going to the Indy Car race today at Texas Motor Speedway today so I'm gonna have to stay off social media and watch the recorded F1 race when I get home.

I really enjoyed this thread last year, sad I won't be able to follow along live with y'all for the first race, but just glad Motorsports are back in full swing.

I was shocked on that first pass down the straight.

Lec came out of the pits a car length ahead, built a gap to .7 in 2/3rds of a lap just to get passed on the straight

I think Ferrari has the better pace in 2/3. RB has to make a pass in sector 1 stick to have a chance imo

Don't get the extra stops at all.

They gave a spot up to Sainz (who gave it back to cover) to be on fresh tires with 28 seconds to make up in 13 laps
