I think there's a major optics issue for Gene Haas and Haas Racing if Mazepin keeps his seat during all of this. The media will spin it as Gene is a greedy Russian sympathizer, and the cancel culture/mob mentality will take care of the rest. And I think that could have a pretty serious impact on Haas Automation as a company.

There seems to always be a clause or language that gives the team an out. Stuff like "conduct detrimental" or other such vague language.
I always hate signing a contract with that pesky war clause...but that's the cost of doing business.
For me, it's just known and accepted that Haas sucks. Kind of like knowing Vanderbilt sucks at football. That in and of itself doesn't move the needle. The general public or sports media don't care that they suck at the sport. But there will be outlandish talking points and headlines to generate clicks by latching on to the Russia/Ukraine stuff.

Drive to Survive season 4 reviews are starting to come out. Sounds like it's...... not great.. Weakest of the 4 seasons so far.
season 3 was the weakest of the seasons so it doesn't surprise me that 4 is another dropoff. These things begin to get stale because they start getting a lot more narrative-based vs letting the content speak for itself.

I think part of the problem with the current format is that, when people first watch, they are unfamiliar with the sport and the most recent past season so everything hits them all at once. Now, that I have been following more closely over the last few years, it seems like a replay, albeit a very cool replay, of what I have already seen and know.
As unbelievably drama-filled and entertaining as this past season was, I can imagine some people are disappointed with the DTS recap.
But I'll enjoy it nonetheless. More F1 is good.

I wish the SEC would do this for the football season and release it right before the season started. No matter how much more I enjoy watching an actual game, I love the content that gets me excited for the next season

That's not surprising at all. Last year they edited races and events out of order to build fake drama so I assumed it'd only be ramped up this year.
That clearly follows. Two midfield drivers with secure seats duking it out for the title of competent driver? Should be fun.
