The single player you are speaking of is also in the transfer portal. So that number is actually zero.
Could be.....She is 5'9" but plays bigger than she is being a pretty good blocker as well. Has excellent hands. She runs a 5-1 in club but ran a 6-2 in high school with a sr to allow her to hit. She is a pretty good RS hitter as well.cbmik95 said:
She's athletic, aggressive, and smart. My concerns are the intangibles. I can see her being a really good libero with her body control and ability to command the court. Kansas has done really well in the Bird days with smaller setters, so i hope she translates to something like their former all American
If she grows a few inches, different story. I see her as: 3 rotation setter, DS/Libero.
I know Jenna quit due to mental healthJack Pearson said:
Hmm Jenna didn't lose her spot or transfer, she quit volleyball due to "mental health". She literally started for 3 years beating out multiple top prospect taller setters. And Jenna was actually 5-6 which is quite a bit different than even 5-9. As far as attitude , they are very similar and play with a bulldog mentality.
As for the competition, she played 16 Open against the best teams in the country all year. Played the top teams on the tour of Texas . Which one was weak exactly? These are literally some of the tops in the class of 24. Out of the open USAV field going to nationals she played 9 of the teams and arguably the tallest team in the country in Colorado Jrs Sherri who goes 6-4 to 6-5 across the front row. They beat Austin Jrs top team , Tav Houston tops teams, went 3 with Houston Jrs top team,..literally a top 5 ranked Lone Star team all year. Played TAV DAllas tough twice and took Drive Nation to 3. And like you said about Jenna, put this girl on a team loaded like a TAV Dallas and guess what she would look even better. The team she is on now is literally a local team competing and beating some the most selectively recruited clubs in the country. If I'm a coach they certainly should catch my eye as this team has no business beating a team that is double open qualified like AJV.
And to answer your question wicked, I believe she would rather be a preferred at A&M and get a chance to win a spot than play at a small school. She believes she can play with anyone and will prove it if given the opportunity.
My question is, if she had a skyline or TAV jersey on would people think differently? There seems to be a serious case of club bias which won't be an issue for her next year.
I've seen all the top setters in the class of 24 in the state, I'd put her top 3 and with being a better athlete than the top 2 but not having 6" or better height. But she can probably still jump with them both.
On a national scale the only setter i saw all year that caught my eye that was taller and as athletic is the Izzy Staurck girl from the Co jrs team and she is a U19 team USA member.
