Really makes me sad... and we are literally in the middle of a volleyball hotbed. That finals was really amazing and super fun to watch as just a spectator who didn't care who won.

It looks like London is going to use her extra year of eligibility from the Covid season…but she's in the transfer portal. Would have been nice to have that experience coming back in the middle next year.

Good for her. Get at least one grad year likely free. She had her ups and downs this season but she was pulled too many times and too early it seemed.

I remember her being on the all SEC freshman team

Wish her luck wherever she lands. we needed a middle to stay IMO but it looks like it will be Talbert if any. I think Browser could improve…the timing just seemed off running the quick attack. Maybe working in the spring with new setter can get them ready as a tandem.

Here's one short write up about the incoming class along with their Prep Volleyball rankings.

"Newcomers: Fortunately, though, the Aggies have put together a very strong recruiting class out of the high school ranks, and they have not been shy to build through the portal in the past, either. Joining the TAMU roster for 2022 will be 6'2" MB Ifenna Cos-Okpalla (PV #130), 6' OH Lexi Guinn (PV #22), 6'1" OPP Logan Lednicky (PV #78), 6'7" (!) MB/RS Ital Lopuyo, and DS/L Ava Underwood (PV #18). That's clearly one of the top classes in the SEC this year."

Recruiting class looks great! Fields returning should provide some stability for the team in general. Most experienced pins returning. A ton to be optimistic about, but my over/under on y'all finding issues with the squad is one week. It's just what you do. You can't help yourselves. Be an Aggie, not a know it all, never played the sport, online expert. Because tbh, know one cares that we post on here. Do you honestly think Jimbo or Bird or the AD is frantically searching the forums online for answers on how to move teams forward? Remember the 12th man. He showed up! He didn't stew in the stands and post his feelings on some forum. If you really care and are not just a fan of your posts, you would mentor a freshman who is away from home for the first time, greet a transfer who has not come up with our amazing traditions, or a million other things to help our Aggies. And maybe y'all do. Our family has supported teams and individual players for years. There is nothing better. Let's Build these women up this year. They deserve the respect and loyalty of Aggieland. They are Aggies! Thanks and GigEm!

Not sure why you directed your post at me, but whatever. I've discussed the team on a message board designed to discuss the topic at hand. It's not all sunshine and rainbows and if you think it is, then I'm sorry that we will have to disagree on things. I by now means think I'm a know it all, I just try to provide info and my own insight about the Aggie volleyball team on the volleyball thread. Crazy concept I know.

I've previously posted that the incoming freshman class is highly rated and we have a highly regarded six-rotation OH transfer coming in that should help. However, having no experienced setter returning and losing our two most experienced middles is going to be tough to overcome, as it would be for any team. I don't think stating those things is being negative towards the girls we have on the team, it's just a fact.

There's definitely some potential on the roster but as we have seen in the last few years that doesn't mean it will translate to productivity on the court. Heck I just hope the incoming class stays on campus for more than a year, unlike our previous talented signing class that has all left the program.

Looks like a really good bunch of athletes. Let's get them on the court in non conference and get them ready for the SEC. We could be looking at the nucleus of a top rated volleyball program. Don't let them be corrupted by the failures and the can't get it done attitude of the past.

Did caroline muth from notre dame transfer in?

The class is loaded with experienced club players on top club teams in the nation. Next year's team will have question marks but this is a solid start to hopefully get the train rolling over the next several years.

If anyone has personally seen any of these girls play, please share!

GigEm Ags! Wasn't directing comments toward anyone in particular, so relax. Generally speaking is all. Nowadays, everyone is an expert. Regardless of experience. All people need is a keyboard. We are different in Aggieland. It's the spirit of Aggieland. It's why these players come here. Thanks and GigEm

Here's a cool clip on Ava Underwood who I think can be a really good libero at the college level, and she also played some setter

First spring exhibition game was this past Friday at Rice. Lost 3-1. Lauren Davis and Treyauna weren't playing. However, London and Mallory were both playing. Neither are on the spring roster so not sure what that means going into next season.

Just a few observations from the match. Brooke Frazier and Allison Fields alternated at the libero spot. Frazier looked pretty good and had some nice plays defensively. Alison looked like she's lost some weight and was solid overall. Both setters got in a lot of work. NIsa looked better overall and had some great placement. Cici and Faye both had some nice kills from the pins but their lack of height hurts them against bigger blockers. Both had nice placement to make up for some of the lack of height. Serve receive is still looking like the biggest obstacle for the team. Rice was targeting Morgan Christon and she struggled passing.

It was good to see Camila back on the sideline and hopefully she can help the back row clean up some things. In all the team looked very similar to last year. Hoping the incoming freshman and transfer from Notre Dame can make a difference.

London Austin Roark signed with SMU who hit the transfer portal pretty hard it seems

We added some back court DS depth with getting Lauren Hogan from Syracuse

I watched a few matches of Logan, she is super athletic. She flies like Camila did. If she has anywhere near the ball control of Camila, she could be one to watch.

The freshmen coming in isn't on the spring roster, I can see her needing time to adjust. She set her senior year of HS, but she is also super athletic.

My money is on Logan or Alison

Nice to hear! I really like Ava Underwood, but would not mind if she got a little time to learn the system and adjust to the game as Hogan plays! We need all the help on the back line that we can get!

I don't care as much about how good they are defensively. We need passers big time. If we go with same outsides as last year we won't have good passing for another year it seems.
You need one OH who can pass effectively along with a Libero then you can hide another OH with a RS or DS but we have to go back to Hans /Gomez who we good enough for NCAA run and you have to go way back to Battis Ammerman and Banse for one that was good enough for top ten status. And even then there were moments

Hopefully Caroline Meuth transferring in from Notre Dame will provide some relief at the OH1 spot. Bad thing is the falloff from there is pretty noticeable.

She hits a heavy ball, I think speed is where she is going to struggle. If everyone is healthy, I think we will be solid.

I think we were spoiled having a player like Hollann who was our go-to scorer when the match is on the line, a good passer, plus had a incredible serve. Smart coaches in the SEC will always target the seam of the weak passing OH. Hopefully the ND transfer can pass the ball. This year will be about how we play out of system. Because the teams that win, score when everything isn't perfect and 90% when it is perfect. Last year when we had perfect passes, perfect sets, we still hit it 10ft out of bounds. Watch Kentucky or Wisconsin, when the defense had great digs, not always to target, their offense adjusted instead of hitting into the double block or out of bounds. For context, The USA Olympic team estimated that their winning offense was out of system 50% of the time. They found a way to score the point. Remember, our defense led the SEC in digs last year and we have returning contributors. Fields will start and the Cuse trans and Frazier should compete for DS. Having Gomez as volunteer should help the younger players, but Fields has more D1 experience already. Our Aggies will rep Aggieland well! GigEm
