4-4 in conference now with 2 coming against Kentucky? This team is not a tournament team by any means. Sad to say, because the staff has had plenty of time to build this roster. What's the word on the next recruiting class?

Here's the 2021list! Doesn't sound like from the previous posts that we are getting much out of them!

Those commits weren't playing this season. Once Conner stayed it was mop up duty for either setter maybe and we haven't had much time for that. Brooke Frazier has played various DS roles sporadically but the Libero apparent is coming in next class I would think honestly.
Faye is the interesting one. She hasn't done much and only played a handful of points but even undersized you can see the potential but CiCi can do the same right now with better ball control. She will if she gets significant playing time at TAMU have to have a player DS for her in the back row. You got to have at least one 6 rotation OH and I am wondering when that will ever happen again. Hans was it. Kelsey Black before her. All the way back to Banse Ammerman Battis era to remember another that didn't leave the court. I may be missing someone but those players did thing front and back row

I think we finally get the 6 rotation we have been longing for next year, in Lexi Guinn. She is taking someone's starting spot on the pin.

There is also a girl that recently committed for the 2023 class that looks lights out. She is currently leading her high school team in kills and digs while they have like a 30-2 record in a very tough houston district. Reminds me a lot of Presley from
BU

I think she is a Day 1 starter.

I see her, Lexi, and Underwood starting from the time the set foot on campus(pending trey's development)

I dont see Lexi beating out either OH right now maybe but the heght and experience will win out i think

but we do need help on the pins...and the one i think will is the lefty which doesnt help the OH position

I mean, if Lexi can play 6 rotations, that opens up subs for elsewhere.

Technically, all of the girls can come back for two more years with covid. I think Davis could be a candidate.

This seems to be a deep group. If Lexi can take up 6 rotations, let Lauren and Christon fight it out. They both have consistency issues.

Very few players come in as a six rotation outside and start immediately taking two year starters off the court for teams vying for top 25 status. And those players are usually top 25 players in their class.

Would it be nice to have ? Yes because you always want to improve the starters if you can. But is it likely to happen ?? I don't think so

She isn't Hans level at this point and time and she struggled her freshman year and didn't play six rotations and she was a Top 30 or so player in her class.

Rush numbers get her pulled after set one but we need more production from pins...middles are stat wise doing great

I'm over it. They looked out coached and out played. Communication lacked. I questioned some coaching moves or the lack of too

The team is regressing as the season goes and you can start to see more and more lack of effort/attitude issues. It's time to get the young girls some playing time and start prepping for the future. The coaching needs some changing up as well.

VB doesn't have anything new

It is still at this level getting the correct girls in position to succeed. And then making adjustments to specific opponents before the match and during.

This team isn't consistent. Every player that plays significantly has shown they can play at this level.

Nothing against Rush but what match has she had in her career that competes with the last match before today. And then she is pulled after one disaster set which wasn't that bad.

What I have seen this year is that every girl on the roster should be ready for someone to take their spot on the court next year. No one should be safe. Transfer portal, freshman whatever it takes. Because I would rather take 80% from everyone that plays then 100% one match and 20% the next. We win today and three other matches I have seen if one pin does well. Just one. On the one time middles struggled we had two pins be just AVERAGE we win.

You can't win with pins hitting zero or close to it. And while player performance can be on the players. The roster and depth is on the staff

400k a year and that's all the talent you can muster in 4 yrs? And yes it's talent physically and mentally that's lacking. Same coaches with two girls back on this team from 2019 and they would be really good . that's on the coaches for not recruiting at a high enough level , probably in part due to the obsessive distractions thier social stances had on team unity and attracting top talent that just want to play a sport and not deal with politics. Just build high character young ladies and coach.

It's time to see what kind of A&D we have. Soccer, volleyball and softball all need changes.

So the consensus is the team has enough talent to win, but it can't overcome the coaching or lack thereof? Thus the reason for the poor attitude and inability to close out and win close games. It almost sounds Like the players are being jerked around by the coaching staff causing a lot of the attitude problems?

I wouldn't say it that way. Not at all.

I think we have players that are so up and down in terms of efficiency that if it was more even keel we wouldn't need the players best game to win.

We win yesterday with middles performance if just one pin could be average. We led in most stats through three sets even with poor stat performance out of the pins.

You can always see a direct highly correlated link between hitting percentage and conference standings.
When the pins hit zero or thereabouts you don't win.

Morgan Lauren and CiCi have all had games that are great. Rush just two games ago. Cox the game she got injured. But for every pin that hits .400 in one game they hit .053 or lower in three games.

Add to it that none of the pins are elite passers which means subs are used and no real back row attack option is available. And for some reason the coaching staff brings in a serving sub for one middle ONCE a set and wastes valuable subs and we have been to the point of a DS having to play front row or a non passing front row having to play back row and honestly both London and Mallory are above average servers for middles. No reason they should be subbed out except maybe game five and or when points have been scored in bunches so we have extra subs.

Honestly I like both the middles serves over the Libero sometimes although you might as well serve the Libero for one of them
