I am on record liking her play as well however looking at the stats she hit .114 and we are in awe?? that is what scares me about where we are as a program.


I am taking nothing away from her performance...15 kills and a ton of digs but the fact that we are this excited over a pin hitting .114 shows that we are a long way from where we need to be

Sabrina coming in for Macy the last three sets baffles me not from the switch but the fact we played 4-5 DS in front of her and she comes in after not playing two sets

What does that say that your "second best libero" can even crack the DS lineup already out there. I just dont get it? If all the DS are playing and she wasnt then are you saying you have specific DS for specific back row positions?

The way this team passes you give up digging and put the best passing DS in the libero uniform and call it a day

I think the staff wants a digging defensive libero more than a pass nails libero...and the problem is we cant pass

I bet all of those DS players played libero in HS


For the record I am not railing on any specific performance by any one player....i am trying to show issues that I dont understand

We replaced London after set two and Browser played in the last three sets...London had three kills and so did Browser...Browser took a ton less swings so she was stat wise more effective but timing or trust of setting her the ball showed and we went outside way to often

So if one girl has 19 swings in two sets and the other has only 6 swings in three sets dont you think the block is going to shift to the outside for the opponent

I think our middles have been extremely ineffective running behind the setter. I feel like all of our middles get their kills in transition in front of the setter. I think Camielle needs to stop forcing the slide and figure out how to do more stacking combos. It ain't working. Talbert hasn't been able to get kills like she normally does.

… but thinking about it now, she didn't really force the slide today. They were just not clicking

We haven't had great middles since Sullivan, Babers, and Blake. Those middles were electric and consistent.

Talbert get two rotations on front row with the setter and Roark only gets one typically.

Talbert had 12 kills on 24 swings today so not a huge issue.

London has had two below average matches during conference but I don't see the connection between Browser and Conner and maybe that is a comfortabilty issue right now
Therefore I go with Roark …she has proven her ability over the last few years.

Our freeball efficiency is really bad right now. We can't terminate when getting freeballs add to that we don't terminate OOS from the OH position like we did with Hans on the pin makes for frustration watching us not terminate.

I agree with this. When Morgan had a free ball kill against her, it was my sign it was going to be one of those nights. She has a really issue with consistency(I think she has a bad attitude, or she is entitled).

Mallory had a good night, more so infront of Connors than behind her. Mallory has had a hard time the last 6 matches or so reading the block, off one foot. She gets stuffed 2-3 times per match. Some of that is set location, some of that is her swing is readable. Not sure, but she is our only true option behind the setter right now

Not to pile on, but two things stuck out at me watching both Georgia and Ole Miss. Our feet seem stuck to the floor, especially in the backrow. We are reacting way too late to the ball. Thus, easy balls are not returned and passes are poor. Second, our free balls are returned three feet off the net. A true gift for the other team. Send the free balls deeper.

Not just that, but of defensive preparation is horrible. Like watch where the girls platform starts. The reason we shank doing many balls is because we don't read the block, and don't prepare our platform. Every swing is almost a surprise

The schedule sets up for some losses in the next few if we don't correct things soon

Miss State is much improved over past two years and we lost both matches last year to them which we shouldn't have...and we go to Florida before that

Add in the fact that we barely beat Georgia after getting destoyed the night before and losing in heartbraking fashion last night

We need to find consistancy quickly because i honestly believe if we play 80% of our capabilities as individual players night in night out we could make the tourney....the problem seems to be we play 100% one night followed by 40-50% the next night as individual players and it keeps changing where the 40-50% comes from each night and also where the 100% comes from as well


Edit. I don't see any way we make the tourney now unless we win two of the next three matches and even then we still have two against Top 5 Kentucky at there place

The bottom line is that our roster is worse now than it was when Bird took over. The only really player Burd gas brought to A&M was Gomez abs she was only here for one year. The bald assistant always has terrible timing or just likes tv time because he's always trying to tell the girls on the Court things at the worst possible time. Time to admit our mistake and go hire a proven head coach.
