Women’s Basketball
Three Aggies heard their names call during last night’s 2021 WNBA Draft.

Assistant coach Bob Starkey announced this week that he will be heading to Auburn.

  • Starkey had been at Texas A&M since 2012.

Women’s Golf
Texas A&M is competing in the Southeastern Conference Championship this weekend at the Greystone Golf & Country Club in Hoover, Alabama.

The tournament continues this weekend and concludes on Sunday, April 18.

  • Friday: Final Round of stoke play
  • Saturday: Match play
  • Sunday: Match play

Soccer (11-3, 7-1 in SEC play)
Following No. 8 Texas A&M’s 1-0 victory over No. 3 TCU last Saturday, a couple of Aggies received conference and national honors for their performance.

Men’s Golf
Sam Bennett was named the Ben Hogan Award’s Player of the Month for March.

  • Bennett won both of his starts during March, taking both the Cabo Collegiate and the Old Waverly Classic.

Texas A&M will head east to play in the SEC Championships at Sea Island Golf Course in Saint Simons Island, Georgia.

  • First round: Wednesday, April 21
  • Second round: Thursday, April 22
  • Third round: Friday, April 23
  • Match play: Saturday, April 24 - Sunday, April 25

Track & Field
Tyra Gittens was named the SEC’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week following her school-record performance in the heptathlon at the Texas A&M Invitational last week. She also joined TexAgs Radio earlier this week.

Athing Mu and Gittens were named to the mid-outdoor season Bowerman Watchlist.

Texas A&M travels to Waco this weekend to compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational.

Men’s Tennis (14-7, 6-5 in SEC play)
No. 8 Texas A&M hosts No. 22 Alabama on Saturday at the Mitchell Tennis Center in Bryan-College Station as the Aggies conclude the regular season.

  • The action begins at 1:00 p.m. CT.
  • The match is a rescheduled contest after the March 28 contest was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Alabama program.

Women’s Tennis (16-5, 8-3 in SEC play)
No. 17 Texas A&M upset No. 15 Tennessee, 4-3, on Wednesday morning at the Mitchell Tennis Center in Bryan-College Station.

  • The Aggies took the doubles point
  • Katya Townsend won her match in straight sets (6-3, 6-2)
  • Jayci Goldsmith won her match in straight sets (6-1, 6-4)
  • Tatiana Marakova won her match in three sets

A&M has a pair of matches this weekend as the Aggies make up for their postpones resulting from COVID-19 issues earlier this year.

  • Saturday: Ole Miss in Bryan-College Station. Action begins at 10:00 a.m. CT
  • Sunday: Georgia in Tuscaloosa. Action begins at 3:00 p.m. CT

Softball (27-11, 5-7 in SEC play)
Texas A&M dominated Sam Houston State on Wednesday night, run-ruling the Bearkats, 8-0, in six innings.

  • Makinzy Herzog threw a complete-game shutout and notched 13 strikeouts.
  • Haley Lee launched a pair of home runs and now has 17 on the year.
  • Shaylee Ackerman also jumped the yard.

A&M hosts Ole Miss this weekend at Davis Diamond for a three-game SEC Series.

  • Friday: 6:00 p.m. CT on SEC Network+
  • Saturday: 2:00 p.m. CT on SEC Network+

Baseball (20-15, 3-9 in SEC play)
Texas A&M snapped a six-game losing streak on Tuesday night as the Aggies took down Texas State, 8-4, in San Marcos.

The Aggies travel to Fayetteville to face top-ranked Arkansas for a three-game series at Baum Stadium.
