Same here.

I may do that, then. Something about taking a full dose feels off.

I'm very glad my fellow Aggies and TexAg peeps are recovering well but it is so frustrating that these few random and totally unrelated cases convince more people to get vaccine than actual data showing it is relatively safe and saves lives.

Just human nature I guess, personal stories have a much larger emotional impact than actual empiric data.

My 86 year old father tested positive today. He's fully vaccinated. Please keep him in your prayers. Obviously, he did not catch it from me. I haven't seen him for a couple of months.

Thanks, my friends.

Sorry to hear that. I'm praying now.

Hopefully his case will be mild since he at least has a head start on fighting it.

My parents are 81 and 79. Both vaxxed and both healthy but my greatest fear was that I would give it one of them. Stuff of nightmares.

So far, he's doing okay. Just a little cough. Hopefully, that's all this is for him.

I should add, my Dad's older sister had COVID in summer of 2020. She lives in a nursing home. All she had was a slight fever. She's a tough lady!

So far, so good. His O2 levels have been 97-98 consistently. He has our whole hometown and family checking on him and bringing him food, mowing his yard. My Dad is a great guy. Of course he has lived in my hometown for 53 years or so.

Figure I'll start my little covid journal here since I've been reading this thread for a while. I had not gotten vaccinated, but had actually decided I was going to and then got it almost immediately. Tested positive last Wednesday 9/8, with a fever and sore throat. Wife also tested positive with sinus pressure.
By Saturday, I had no symptoms at all and thought I had beaten it. Sunday I started to cough a little, Monday coughed a little more, and Tuesday night pretty much coughed up orange crap all night long. Went in to do the monoclonal injection, and instead got admitted about 10:30AM this morning. It's great encouragement to see the posts from the others on here.

Notes from first day - started remdesivir and the antibody infusion a little while ago. The shot in the stomach is not fun. I'm in an ER room and don't even have a trailer so this is going to get old fast I think.

Question for this who went through it - how many treatments of the remdesivir before you showed any progress? I'm currently on high flow oxygen and as long as I'm not moving around too much I'm sitting at 98 to 100

I can't answer your questions, but I pray you get well quickly and don't have to stay in the hospital too long.

I will admit that this thread was very therapeutic for me when I was in the hospital. In regards to remdesivir, it wasn't until my 4th treatment that I started feeling better. I only received remdesivir and steroids when I was in the hospital.

I agree that the Lovenox injections are not fun. I have Orion's belt on each side of my stomach from where I got them. I kept forgetting to ask what gauge of needle they use for that damn thing. I was in the ER for two days and received better care there than I did on the telemetry floor. The good thing about being in a regular room was having a bathroom, more quiet, and seeing the doctor on a regular basis. Hated wearing the heart monitor while in telemetry also, damn ball and chain. Lol.

What rate of oxygen are you on? Keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Prayers for you and your recovery. There are three of us on this thread that were in around the same time with it and we all made it out. It was third or fourth treatment when I started noticing a difference. Sounds like you are doing pretty well if your oxygen is 98 to 100 while resting. Stay still and breathe the best you can and let the oxygen do it's thing.

I don't think that I ever hit 98 while in the hospital, even on 10L. If I did, it was short lived.

I was probably my 4th Remdesivir treatment, as well. It still took me awhile before I got out.

I never had O2 that high, either. Still don't at home.

Praying you get better soon and get home! Getting home has done wonders for me!

Thanks for the replies all. I know this is a long road ahead and seeing other perspectives is helping me keep it together tonight after the first phone call home to the kids that don't really understand why I'm not home.

Apparently they've been blasting me with oxygen all day at 60L. Said they are going to be weening me down overnight to something more maintainable. Currently sitting at 94. Did they try to put any of you on the ventilator? I really hate the idea of that and my wife is freaking out because they already said if I can't hold 93 pretty consistently that I'm headed to one.

Thanks again everyone.

They never talked about a ventilator with me. They told me they wanted me to be above 88 and obviously the low 90's would be better. I would be fighting them on that 93 number for sure as far as a ventilator goes. That seems way high to be talking about a ventilator.

So both my parents, age 75 and 74, were diagnosed and hospitalized at the same time with Covid. Long story short, they are both out and doing well. Both have other health conditions, so it was quite a trying time.

I had to go in and take care of them, get them into the hospital, care for them as they have got out. I knew I was likely to test positive.

I am vaccinated and age 48 in 3 days. My symptoms started Sept 10 as sinus allergy, mild cough, headache, sore throat and tired.

I found it hard to get tested with rapid results..but did an at home test Monday night that showed positive, although I was not sure. I did a drive thru test at Walgreens...waiting two to five days on that result ( which should be positive), and did another at home test today (Wednesday the 16th) that showed a definite positive.

I felt bad Friday, Sat, Sun and Monday. Treated with OTC medicines and started to feel better Tuesday and on into Wednesday. I was able to contact my doctor as a virtual visit and get referral for infusion treatment. My doctor said my condition seemed to be mild and thinks the infusion will not harm me and thinks my condition will improve after the injection...which I will get tomorrow.

Should I expect to get worse. I don't seem to feel bad at all after my initial 4 days.

You came to the hospital at blood oxygen levels of 85, which is a ton better than most folks who are admitted and a good indicator of prognosis. Not a doc, but from what I've read, very optimistic about you.

I would resist the ventilator, especially if you are in low 90s. That seems way aggressive to me, but I'm not a doc. Maybe one of them will chime in. What hospital are you at of you don't mind telling us?

Hoping for the best for you. Been following this threads as others in hospital battle and recover and I am looking forward to following you doing the same. Hang in there and Gig Em.

USA is pretty lucky to be able to adapt so quickly and adopt technology like it has.

I just got the vaccine where I am in the world and there's an outbreak and the antibody infusion hasn't even been approved yet so COVID patients aren't even getting the most optimum care.

The antibody infusion turned my wife around, and she is not vaccinated. You never know, but I would say the odds are in your favor, especially since you are vaccinated.
