I don't think that place is that big. Are you going by each other's rooms and talking crap like Apollo and Rocky?

Another successful texags hookup!

Y'all get some Cracker Barrell together

Still think y'all need to meet up at some point and share experiences.

I just had a CT scan this morning and my pneumonia is back as well as air around my heart. Packing a bag to head back to the hospital. Hopefully this won't be a lengthy stay.

I'm honestly kinda glad they found something wrong as I felt like I was not getting better.

I really hate to hear that and hate it for you. It did seem like they did rush you out of the hospital, though. Praying for you that this stint is short and hopefully more bearable than last go.

Glad they found that. It did seem like you weren't improving at the rate you should have. Better to be in the hospital where they can keep an eye on you. Praying you come out healthier very soon!

Like Rex said, it seemed that you weren't progressing like you should. I was beginning to worry that you may have a pulmonary embolism. I wonder if the pneumonia didn't resolve to begin with. Please keep us updated. Keeping you in my prayers.

I had that same fear with his anxiety. Then he made a doctor's appt so I didn't want to send him down that Google trail.

Thanks for the thoughts all.

I had already been down that Google rabbit hole and it was a scary one. I knew the last couple of days I just didn't feel quite right. I am glad that my doctor listened to me and rescheduled my CT from next Monday to today. Otherwise by next week I might have been in really bad shape.

Night one in the hospital, part two. I did get put in the covid ward again which sucks since technically I do not have it since it has been 3 weeks since I tested positive the first time. That means no visits and I really struggled with the isolation last time. Hoping I can cope a little better than last time since I know a lot more about what is coming and how things work.

I am scheduled to speak with a surgeon in the morning about the air in my chest. Hoping I don't have to actually have surgery as it seems like most of the time that solves itself based on my Googling. We will see.

I just want to get healthy and get back out of here to play with my girls. The last couple of days have been really hard since I was technically home with them, but not able to play at all. I'm hoping this stay can fix that.

Please pray for my doctors to have wisdom to find the right treatment, and for me to be able to cope with the isolation and find things to keep my mind busy (and to be able to actually sleep at least a little bit). Thank you all so much for the care and concern.

So very sad to learn you've had a relapse, 32. Pneumonia is very serious and the consequences long-lasting so you being at the hospital is a good place to be monitored and to recover.

I cannot stress enough how important follow up care is for anyone who's had pneumonia (from COVID or otherwise). Your lungs are powerful but also fragile systems, and pneumonia abuses their delicate air sacs and it can also be somewhat deceptive (I remember going from feeling okay to really really in a bad way pretty quickly).

Having a good relationship with a PCP who understood my medical history has kept me out of the hospital with subsequent secondary infections after a respiratory virus.

Best wishes and prayers for a complete recovery.

I've been following this thread but not posting. I'm so happy for those that have fully recovered. I am so sorry to hear of your continuing issues, 32. We don't know each other, but I will pray for you and your family. Are you able to facetime or zoom with your family?

I am so thankful to all who have responded to this post!!! The prayers being offered, the revelation that there are still loving, caring people in a world that has less of those qualities almost daily. Most pertinent, the invaluable information to those who have been struck so severely as to be hospitalized. Please keep posting! We all need to be supportive to all our fellowmen and women. Rule, our prayers are with you and your family, and all those who are helping you. God's peace cover you all.

The slight tingling and numbness in my fingers is beginning to subside. It is pretty much confined to my pinky fingers now, and my left is worse than my right. So strange.

Multiple good news post!!!!

Met with surgeon this morning and no surgery required for air around heart. Said it would take 10-14 days but should absorb on its own and I just have to do x-rays every few days to check it. He said if it was up to him I wouldn't be in the hospital so that's great to hear. Just need to clean up my lungs to get out of here. I was worried I would have to have a chest tube but thankfully I do not have a collapsed lung. Praise number 1.

Praise number 2 - common sense is still in use, and I am told I am going to be moved out of the covid unit which is a HUGE blessing. My family will be able to visit and I won't have the isolation requirements that make it hard on doctors and nurses to even come see me. My doctor had told me last time that I would test positive for 3 months most likely, so when they tested me in the ER I started putting out feelers to my doctor to see if they could overrule a positive test. I am not contagious (it's been 3+ weeks since symptoms started) and my infectious disease doctor this morning put in an order to move me out of the isolated ward. Now I'm just waiting for someone to get discharged to get my new room.

As I was typing this, my infectious disease doctor came in. Sounds like they are still not 100% sure what is going on and not completely sold that I got a second pneumonia infection, but they are treating me for that and a few other things. Sounds like they are being pretty aggressive with things which I like. Should be seeing a new lung doctor today hopefully.

Overall a positive day. Sounds like I'm going to go through a few rounds of antibiotics to try to treat what they think is happening, so hopefully one of those will kick this thing to the curb for good.

I am definitely in a MUCH better place mentally. I do not know how you guys did longer than a week in isolation. Mentally I was a mess when I got out of here last week. That week long break with family did wonders for me even if I was not feeling great.

Just heard from my new PCP and I think I found a winner there. She was just calling to check on me and make sure I had been admitted and everything. She's new to the area and she has been absolutely fantastic.

I be can't wait to be out of here, but I know I need to be healthy so just trying to be patient and positive.

Howdy! Your post shouts, "Positivity"! Very encouraging that they are being aggressive about your treatment. Couple that with the fact you will be able to be with family, just makes it all the better. Praying for you to stay hopeful, and that with each day, things get better. God's peace cover you.

Today was good. My wife has been here with me most of the day which has been wonderful.

Was able to at least stand up today, and oxygen tanked a little. Still felt good to get up on my feet. Doctors are going to send me home as soon as I can pass the walking test again. I'm guessing that might be Sunday. At this point it's basically just a waiting game until the pressure in my chest goes down enough to let me breathe when walking.

Still on anti biotics but those are basically just preventative at this point. The doctors aren't sure if I had a second case of pneumonia still but are treating for it.

Hope everyone else had a great day as well.
